Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Where should I go? How long for? How much does it cost? Got plenty of mates who have done this before or after uni whose opinions I shall be seeking but there must be a fair few of you who have done it as well and I want to put as much research into it as possible.
Finnegan Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Sorry. Hm. A friend of mine and I had an idea, as I'm not a fan of hot, sunny places. We were going to go on, like, an arc. From Norway to the Shetlands, to the Faroes, to Iceland, to Greenland, to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. That's my suggestion!
lookwhaticando Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Cambodia. A month. Lots of moolah. Don't forget the dreadlocks.
Matt Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Depends how far you want to go really, Two of my cousin's from Oz bought round the world tickets which last for a year I think, not sure how much they are or what the condition's but it could be something to look into. I've always liked the idea of traveling but finished school went straight in an apprenticeship and work, never really thought or considered a year out or anything, but as I have said in the past likelyhood is sometime in the future i'll take a working holiday to Australia, perhaps during my time going over/coming back I may stop of at a few countries, i'm not sure though, as I said it's a plan for the future which I haven't really thought of yet. Mind you better doing it sooner that later I suppose, because if I leave it to late and have got a house/commitments that could be the end of the plan.
Finnegan Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Australia. Grow some originality and munch it on down, you're lacking.
Dames Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Costfactor 5000. Just imagine all the little gadgets you could pick up and then theres the females
James. Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 You absolutely have to go to South America. I've not been but everyone I know who has says it is amazing. I'll find out the best bits and post them back in here.
frenzal Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Depends how exotic a place you want to go. I went round Europe for a month after finishing school for about £700. That includes a £250 rail ticket that takes you pretty much anywhere on any train in Europe. A month turned out just the right length to get to Istanbul and back via most major cities.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 to Oz cold beers and BBQ's A mate and i are going to go to Thailand and Vietnam for probably a month each in both it's cheap as when you are there and the resorts are ment to be amazing every one i have spoken to loves it there.
Alexikokopops Posted 30 November 2007 Posted 30 November 2007 I lived with my parents, but on the weekends I’d go to visit my grandparents, and they lived over 40 minutes away in Wakefield. I think from that, I developed a kind of spiritual wanderlust, if you like.
mancunianfox Posted 30 November 2007 Posted 30 November 2007 I have done a Holland/France/Germany trip. I want to see Russia though and go to St. Petersberg and Moscow but most my dream trip is New York to Los Angeles. Wouldn't mind seeing Cambodia/Vietnam and I'd love to go to Mexico too.

Ric Flair Posted 30 November 2007 Posted 30 November 2007 Here's an idea. I think you should spend however long it takes to go to every village and town on the coast of the entire United Kingdom. You have to get at least mildly pissed in each one, I suppose you could fit a fair few in, in one day as long as the end result is a spot of sick come the evening. You're mode of transport is roller blades or one of those pogo sticks. I think you'd genuinely have the time of your life and you would also never, ever have the need to go to any of our horrible seaside resorts again. I must stress that I don't condone trying to milk the donkey's on Scarborough Beach though. Anything else goes though, in fact, fook it, so does the donkey's.

That's the kind of book people buy. I'd buy it.
