mbd123 Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 There is only 4 players that Ollie as decided to not make available, the rest can go if anyone wants them. One of the 4 is at present on loan.
Brainy Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Again, I presume you're not going to tell us your source.
mbd123 Posted 20 December 2007 Author Posted 20 December 2007 Again, I presume you're not going to tell us your source. If I did mate I wouldn't get anymore imfo, but it is very close to where the decisions are made.
davieG Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Well lets hope they understand what a shop window is otherwise we going to be truly tonked on Saturday.
ronnup Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Mcauley? Clemence? Kisnorbo? Ngotty? Got to be defenders really. To be fair, i'd be sad to see Hume go or Fryatt, but in all honesty they've proven they're not winners. Three years to try.
Guest Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 4? Seems like an awfully low number to keep out of the current bunch. Don't get me wrong I know they're not exactly performing at the top of their game but I'm pretty sure there are more than 4 that would be worthwhile keeping

filbertway Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 It looks like we're trying to keep Fulop then
mbd123 Posted 20 December 2007 Author Posted 20 December 2007 It looks like we're trying to keep Fulop then I don't know all the facts but if you think what Ollie said about Keane !

Koke Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 4 seems like an awfully low number. Fulop is one we'll keep, or try to keep by signing him. And Kisnorbo is destined for Fulham. The rest are anybody's guess really.
stevec Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 There is only 4 players that Ollie as decided to not make available, the rest can go if anyone wants them. One of the 4 is at present on loan. 4 out of what? The entire squad, the starting 11, outside the starting 11? Cus 4 out of the entire squad would be stupid/suicide, 4 out of the first 11 would be stupid/suicide (motivation for Wolves would be the first thing that comes to mind). Weve had players marked as "available" for ages - no takers. That would be one hell of a big pay off session.
Maybes Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 I cant believe this is true. 4. Whatever trevor.
Koke Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 4 seems ridicolously low. If this is true, then I think its meant to be 4 of the starting 11. Cos 4 out of the entire squad is suicide. If its 4 out the starting 11, then its still a bit rusty to work out. Fulop Clemence Hume Chambers/Mattock/Wesolowski Anybody's guess really.
James. Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Has this chap been right about anything before?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Allowed to go if there's a reasonable offer, not released. I can well believe it and I think it's the right way to go. Too many mediocre players make up our first eleven and have done for the past two or three years.

James. Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Plus I guess the argument suggesting we'll struggle with a radically different first team who haven't played with each other before is pretty defunct given that I doubt we would get any worse than right now.
Thracian Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 There is only 4 players that Ollie as decided to not make available, the rest can go if anyone wants them. One of the 4 is at present on loan. If that was the case, which is open to doubt, my guess would be Fulop, Fryatt, Mattock and one from King/Weso/Campbell. Sheehan has had most effect this season overall but his lack of pace makes him hard to accommodate other than for his dead ball expertise and Holloway probably sees less value in that than I do because he's subbed him twice in two, albeit on the back of a booking both times. Mattock's done little of note but is "on the fast track" to better things. Cashing in on Kisnorbo would make sense as I cannot imagine he'd sign another contract. McAuley's lack of pace and passing ability won't have impressed, N'Gotty's getting on and that nonsense at Hull won't have helped his cause nor do I see that Clemence would have sold himself to anyone with his performances this season. Fryatt's contract will be winding down (he's showed himself to be too slow and limited as I expected) but Holloway says he likes him so you have to assume he'll want to retain him. Cort hasn't scored at all yet in the League, Campbell is long term injured, Porter the same, MDV is out of the picture, Kishishev's not been wanted, Weso's too often injured and I just cannot imagine anyone else being so good the club couldn't be tempted to sell or offload. Holloway will want more strength, more pace, more skill and more end product. He'll also want the empty positions filled. He won't expect to sell everyone but will see what gets offered for whom and where that leaves him. It will also show him who of the existing players actually wants to stay and fight to be part of the set-up.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Yeah but you don't really do a clearout in the middle of the season. A bit suicidal if you ask me. They won't all go. It's just clearing the decks of a few mediocre players to be replaced by Holloway's own men. We only have one player this season who has looked capable of Premiership football and he doesn't belong to us.
davieG Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 I'm sure it's a case of You, You, You and You I want to keep the rest of you are going to be open to offers, if you're not picked up you can compete with my new guys and the kids for a place, Oh I nearly forgot you lot over there can all fook off home I don't ever want to see you again. Merry Christmas
Bryn Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 If you're saying that there are only 4 indispensible players, I can believe it. I imagine you misinterpreted, because no club would transfer list all but 4 of its players, especially when the chairman says they're aiming to bring in 4-5 players. The ones that didn't go would be fooked off, it'd decimate the squad even more than it already is. But, saying that only 4 are definately not for sale is the right way to go. I think there's a subtle difference between "4 definately not for sale" and "All but 4 are available for transfer".

Anyway, I'm sick of all these deals to be honest and am looking forward to actually seeing players leave instead of hearing about the possible deals that hardly ever materialize (remember Stephen Hughes who took forever to fook off and Rab is still about ). Lets hope Ollie is shrewd with his deals.
