Asha Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 Sorensen definately- whats happend to him by the way?? fell out with manager, Injured - ive never seen him play really badly for Villa why has he been dropped?? MON preferred Carson and Taylor
Rich Fox Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 Ive heard from a reliable sauce its a cast iron certianty that Spider Kelac will be our new keeper.
Father Ted Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 MON preferred Carson and Taylor Yep, tis' true
MC Prussian Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 Thomas Sorensen. Just about the right age & attitude. Surely we could get him for cheap?
Jay Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 Lets get Joe Hart, classy oung English keeper or how about The forest kepper Smith! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_2995175,00.html well that's the end of that
azza89 Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 The bloke sitting behind me today was chatting on all match. He said that Fulop is signing for City for 800k and Keane tried to get an extra 300k out of us, also reckons that the transfers going through at midnight the day the transfer window opens....not too sure wether he knows for sure and i don't really see how he could know this. He also said that Milan has given Holloway £8.5m to spend and he's apparently interested in some Crewe youngster for around £1.5 - £2m. I really doubt that any of this is true but he wouldn't shut up!

He's not bald Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 Blimey! 1,1M for Fulop would be the steal of the millenium... Fingers crossed!!! If we get Fulop for less than 1.5 mil...then it's christmas all over again...and l still don't believe that there's not a prem side out there ready to start a bidding war!
brez Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 just to throw a spanner in the works.....I noted that even though we lost 4-0 to forest in the reserve game it said that Nielsen had a ' fine game' and that the score could of been ' alot more if it wasnt for his saves' ( or words to that effect..) We either buy Fulop which is what i think keane is trying to get us to do ( he might want Fulop for a couple of games to help Gordon get his confidence back) Or i reckon we will be seeing Nielsen for a couple of games... He is the only one who has been playing recently... henderson hasnt been... i wouldnt throw a keeper into the first team who hasnt even played in the reserves recently..... AND... if he plays well... who knows.. Yes, Jimmy was elected Player of the Game by a newspaper, so I can only shudder at the idea about how much the reserves would have lost if it hadn't been for Jimmy.
The People's Hero Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Martin Hodge. I noted that even though we lost 4-0 to forest in the reserve game it said that Nielsen had a ' fine game' and that the score could of been ' alot more if it wasnt for his saves' ( or words to that effect..) Yeah - it's almost as if we're trying to drum up a bit of interest in him.
Babylon Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Newton on TB says a deal is sorted for Fulop... he was reliable in the past, but his info is sketchy now. He also says Hume to Everton or Fulham!?!?!?
CupidStunt Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Fulop should be nailed down on a contract with us asap, before someone else snaps him up
i luv u foxes Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 if we dont get fulop in january get kasey keller for rest of season then fulop in the summer
placidcasual Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 if we dont get fulop in january get kasey keller for rest of season then fulop in the summer This would be the Kasey Keller who has been injured for most of the season?
CupidStunt Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 I know he's a TIT but the way barber was talking today, from what he said, the £1000 000 offer might not be enough My opinion is that it wont be,QPR will come in with a higher bid, prompting for us to up ours, and he will fetch closer to the 1.5 mill mark
OzFox311 Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 I love how all our former keepers seem to be the flavour of the month... Walker, Keller... mmm... Seriously, I'd go Sorensen, he's got a good set of hands, and he's the right age and style for our team. HOWEVER being an Aussie, I'll also go Federici as I know a lot about him and know he's always been a solid keeper who is a darn good chance of replacing Schwarzer when he retires from the Socceroos, I think Federici could be better than the current back up in Brad Jones... Either way we need a player who is good, because knowing us, there are times when the only thing stopping us between a thumping and a win is the goalie.
RowlattsFox Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Iain Turner at Everton is a good young keeper, my mates a Sheff Wed fan and he was raving about him last season.
WetFlannel Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 I'd take Federici, he would be cheaper than Fulop and has been solid whenever ive seen him play... this is of course if the asking price for Fulop is too high
Thracian Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 just to throw a spanner in the works.....I noted that even though we lost 4-0 to forest in the reserve game it said that Nielsen had a ' fine game' and that the score could of been ' alot more if it wasnt for his saves' ( or words to that effect..) He is the only one who has been playing recently... henderson hasnt been... i wouldnt throw a keeper into the first team who hasnt even played in the reserves recently..... AND... if he plays well... who knows.. Nielsen made a few good one-on-one saves - his blocking in such situations has always been impressive. But his general goalkeeping looked as iffy as ever. He was Leicester's MoM because the rest rated from ordinary to abyssmal and with the work he had to do on the day there was always every chance he'd keep some out.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Fulop has been recalled - news is now on the Official Site so this must have happened hours (if not days) ago!
Tevez Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Sorenson will go to Arsenal for back up if Jens goes. But i wouldn't mind that Federici from Reading, sounds a good keeper and had a impressive FA Cup run last season.
gibbom Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 now marton fulop's gone back to sunderland we neeed a new keeper so here's a couple of names who could come to leicester to replace fulop. Tomasz Kuszczak - man united ben foster - man united Kasper Schmeichel - manchester city steve harper - newcastle united richard wright - everton or should we just stick with henderson, get logan back from his loan spell and get rid of rab douglas and jimmy nielson
BedsFox Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 I'm sorry but none of them are coming to Leicester surely except on loan, and we need permanent signings and stability oh, and Henderson away from the first team! Foster? he's the successor to Van der Sar Harper? sometimes gets picked over Given you need to be looking outside Premiership squads at potential keepers IMHO (Fulop apart, as that was different given they'd just spent £9m on Gordon) as the wages of the lot you quote will be huge Will take a look later, but a number two keeper elsewhere in the Championship or maybe first choice in League 1 more likely I would think
