Vardinhio Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Please dismiss this as you wish. I don't post too often on here so prob wrong section but a friend has today informed me that we've tabled a bid of 4.4m for Jason Roberts and Robbie Savage. Discuss.....delete. I don't really care.

I don't really care. well Holloway did give Roberts a big break when he picked from rotting in the reserves and took him to Bristol Rovers but 4.4 mill seems a massive wedge if cash for us
Staf Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 They have both been left out of the blackburn team playing Derby today but this being true is unlikely
Craig Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Still won't forgive Savage for running over the kop and kissing the Birmingham badge when they scored against us.
WetFlannel Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Jason Roberts sounds very very tempting, but we'd have to offload maybe 2 strikers though
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Too good to be true..I think so. I hope not tho!!!
Foxhateram Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Savage hes had his day im worried about who we are being linked with atm, Kavanagh and now Savage they have both had their day. However i wouldnt mind Jason Roberts, think we can chuck in Elvis and Cort into that deal?
MPH Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Making the bid can be one thing, the players wanting to come to us is another thing altogether..... If they both know sunderland have made a bid i dont see that they would seriously consider us at all....
Simon Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 I'd have Jason Roberts definitely, and he'd probably drop down. Not sure Sav would though- he's big headed enough to think he can still cut it...
Flynny Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Sav probably can still cut it with a lower-mid table Premiership team. If he dropped down it'd be a massive coup.
ronnup Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Savage hes had his day im worried about who we are being linked with atm, Kavanagh and now Savage they have both had their day. However i wouldnt mind Jason Roberts, think we can chuck in Elvis and Cort into that deal? Are you serious? Both of those mid-fielders would hugely improve our team. And although Kavanagh could be on the way, Sav will never, never, never come back here and play for championship strugglers. He's still good enought o walk into the majority of the mid fields in this league, and ours is one of the shittest currently
NewquayFox Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Yes to Roberts but a definate no to Savage, kissing your Brum badge in front of us,running screaming at the ref to get Elliot sent off in his first game back against us! I dont think he would get a very warm welcome, anyway apart from that he`s a proper twat.Fulop yes and Kavanagh still has a season or two in him.Norris from Plymouth is good too. ;0)
Nath Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 According to NOTW Ollie has got 8million to spend. If this was true, and we got norris too, with another midfielder, we would look quite a strong team.
WetFlannel Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 I think wingers are still the primary positions we need to be strengthening... Maybe Roberts could play on the wing with his pace? Although, its unlikely
Jack Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Can't see it happening, would be very nice though.

Jack Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Not a fooking chance in hell We can always dream
Bryn Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 I'd take em both, Roberts especially. Savage would have to work hard to get back into Leicester good books though.
CupidStunt Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 savage no/roberts yes chance of them coming here in jan...about nil
Solihullfox Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Did your friend tell you this just after he/she found out that both had been left out of the Blackburn team and subs in their match against Derby ? I might post something around 3.30 ish when I find out who isn't playing for Man City or Liverpool, not that I'm at all cynical of course.

Wouldn't pay anymore than £3m combined though simply because of their age, it would hardly be a long-term investment.

If they helped get us away from the relegation zone and somewhere towards the top half I couldn't really give a shit whether or not they were long-term investments.
