True but I just can't see MM splashing out £4.4m on two over-30s after being pretty tight in the summer.

Just because not all of them cost 2m each it doesnt make him tight.. Signing on fees, wages involved, Agent fees, ect... Bloody Hell..... ... if thats tight...

As he's referring to transfer fees in excess of £4mill I presume his reference to being tight was with regards to err Transfer fees which by all accounts MM is renowned for being 'tight' .

Something we haven't really got at the moment in the team apart from Kisnorbo, Mcauley and Hume to an extent. I would take him any day of the week and if we got Roberts then with a solid defence we would be banging in goals and Premiership here we come.

He was good when he was with us - younger, faster. But now he would just be an embarrasment. And a liability.

And a liability. Did you not know that Sav was not sent off a single time while he was here. EDIT: He received his first-ever red card when he was sent off in Wales' World Cup qualification match against Northern Ireland in September 2004 for reacting to a foul on him by midfielder Michael Hughes. Both Hughes and Savage were sent off but on later review the sending-off of Savage seemed a harsh decision[citation needed]. Savage was ridiculed for threatening to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights over the decision. His impressive statistic of never being sent off in a Premiership match ended on March 18, 2006 when he was dismissed against Middlesbrough F.C. for two bookable offences. Anyway, my wife Anne has a sister who works as a physiotherapist down at Upton Park. She is only at 2 training sessions during midweek at Chadwell heath (West Ham's training ground), and works the majority of the time with the Academy players. She has one session a week with one half of the first team, seeing as though herself and her colleague are assigned certain players on certain sessions to help with injuries and so on. The other day she travelled up here to see the kids, bring round their Xmas presents and had dinner before they set back off down south. Whilst talking to her about how her work is we got onto the subject of how many injuries there have been down at West Ham this year, she then began to talk about how Lee Bowyer is in talks with Ollie about a possible move to Leicester. Apparently he has held talks with Watford, Palace and us after Alan Curbishley told him he can leave in January if he and his agent can find a club. She said this is the reason why he has suddenly became unheard of around West Ham, he was due back in time for the Reading game last week but has been away for 4 weeks after what was supposed to be a one game ban, and he has only been in training twice, but was suited up and drove off with his agent after talking to coach Mervyn Day at both training sessions. Was rather interesting to hear, only have to wonder wether Bowyer would leave London to the Midlands or wether he would stay in the city. The bloke isn't a bad little player, has had his fair share of trouble in the past but I thought he has been doing alright so far this season. Get him in Ollie!

Discuss.....delete. I don't really care. I agree with the majority of replies on here. I think Roberts would be a good signing, but couldnt see Savage returning. The two reasons being, i couldnt see him wanting to drop down a level and because of the amount of wages he probably demands! Also just read the Lee Bowyer post. Would be a good signing definitely even if he is a bit of a nob! But how many times in the recent past have we been linked with players like this...most recentl in August with the likes of Danny Murphy! I'll believe these rumours when they are actually true! But lets hope!!!!
