rockinrobin Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Can everyone just please shut up about Barber, its doing my nut in. Either go to the match or dont listen to it... Problem solved If you don't like the barber thread, don't look at it, simple, problem solved - it.s only a
Lillehamring Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Maybe someone should tell him to come on here and read this entire thread about him and see what he thinks! i'm sure he has done, he has changed so much in the last few games, trouble is people on here tend to start believing in something, good or bad, and can't accept when it changes... barber almost lost his voice when hayles hit the post, and another time he almost went falsetto getting frustrated when we didn't take advantage of a good opportunity... ok, he pronounces stuff badly, and his football knowledge sucks, but even today, he made a mistake, piper corrected him and he was abject, very humble and accepted his error...
MPH Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Can everyone just please shut up about Barber, its doing my nut in. Either go to the match or dont listen to it... Problem solved if you dont want to read about barber then why are you in a thread about him?!? There are plenty of other threads to read if its doing your nut in - Problem solved

Love it.

Love it. I love Matt Piper too, but I really think he should attend a course on speaking/commentating. He is very knowledgeable and isn't afraid of putting JB right on things - his perfect foil in fact! R Rhythm S Speed V Volume P Pitch This is what I was taught in the RAFP when talking on radios, I think Matty could do well to remember it...
Jay Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I mentioned it yesterday but every week he seems to be turning more and more into Alan Partridge
ozleicester Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Can everyone just please shut up about Barber, its doing my nut in. Either go to the match or dont listen to it... Problem solved Cant go...no other option than to listen...any other alternatives??
StroudFox Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I always liked Geoff Peters, a shame he is now at TalkSport.

Good point, but if it's the injury involving the Oakley mix up you're referring to, and Pipes didn't correct him, i wonder if he would have corrected himself once he realized? His track record says probably not.
l444ry Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Perhaps it's a sign of the times but, having listened to Radio Leicester over decades, I am convinced that the Barber/Piper combination is the most amateur presentation I have had the misfortune to clap my ears on to.
Suffolk_fox Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Maybe listening to the opposition's radio station is another option? Barber isn't the best, but it beats the old days of watching the game on teletext..

AoWW Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Not so many weather reports! Norwich: yesterday - raining. Just in case the radio commentary peeps felt they missed out.
Hullfox Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Norwich: yesterday - raining. Just in case the radio commentary peeps felt they missed out. It didn't sound like it was raining on the radio. Pfft, just shows you......
onetruefox Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 Hes doing my head in already, and we havnt even kicked off.Hes going on about Dickov and how hes gonna be a big threat to us if he comes off the bench...yeah maybe so, but why isnt he bigging up our strikers and saying how much of a threat we will be to them.
Koke Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 Is it true that Derby have a Forest fan doing their commentary on BBC Radio Derby? Or am I making that up?
onetruefox Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 Doh,I meant to post this in the Leicester City Forum bit...ah well...cheers its been moved
hebangsthedrums Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 Well he just talked about Grayson being captain for the 99 LC Final, but he seems to think we won it that year. Idiot.
Tommy G Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 e we going to get the same thread every week about how boring John Barber is? If you don't like it then don't listen? Simple really Just the ''same old same old'' boring barber threads each week
