Granno Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Todays performance from Barber was cringeworthy. If I put in a commentary like that I would have felt ashamed.
Unabomber Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 It's his general lack of any football knowledge, and for that matter any knowledge regarding anything. The Ray Jones remark was simply outrageous.
Granno Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 It's his general lack of any football knowledge, and for that matter any knowledge regarding anything. The Ray Jones remark was simply outrageous. I couldn't believe when he claimed there was a minutes silence for him, then people started clapping for Phil O'Donnell. If he couldn't get that right then what hope is there.
Midlandsfox Posted 1 January 2008 Author Posted 1 January 2008 Barber should get back to Derby and leave immediatley he is sitting in our staduim ridiculling our managers and supporters and is probabley having good drink tonight laughing at us giving him money and the freedom to speak about our players i for one think we should get this man out!!!
Unabomber Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I couldn't believe when he claimed there was a minutes silence for him, then people started clapping for Phil O'Donnell. If he couldn't get that right then what hope is there. Yeh and he didn't even apologize about it or make any note that he was mistaken. He just came back on saying it was for Phill O'Donnell. It's Jonny by the way Granno
MC Prussian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I was unable to make the game today at Loftus Road and relieved after the lads had let us down again today. So I tuned into radio Leicester and not for the 1st time this season as I tend to listen to commentary when I am at the Walkers. And I have to say Jon Barber seems very sadistical with his commentary and is almost laughing his head off and extremely excited when the oppostion score, I think his lack of knowledge of our club and ignorance to tactics and his arrogance get a lot of peoples backs up. Am I the only one who is in the mind set that radio leicester should remove Barber from all Leicester city games, he is not exciting and not passionate about Leicester Sadly enough, we're already aware of that fact. But there's no other commentary if you can't make it to the game. Which makes us all slightly masochist. And that's why were still getting along so well with each other.
Thracian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Ageist? Not employing people gone retirement age?You are going to have to help me on this one because it's flying over me. Why should people have to pack up a job they might enjoy because some suits have said that 65 is enough?
Midlandsfox Posted 1 January 2008 Author Posted 1 January 2008 I could never go and commentate at another team especially the local rivals what sick bastard!!!!
Milky Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Throughout the game Baber was reading last weeks league table before the games at the weekend! Incompetent twat.
Midlandsfox Posted 1 January 2008 Author Posted 1 January 2008 Radio Leicester have a duty to do something as we are all license payers to the BBC and we the FANS are the most important people and if we can get football managers sacked why cant we do that for Radio commentators, cause quite frankly Barbers name is appearing all over the place and dont seem like any one likes him SHEEP SHAGGING willy puller!!!
Scow Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 He's worse than our midfield. Poor Matty Piper, out of his depth. Sounds a bit, erm, slow.
WetFlannel Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 We're almost in the relegation zone and we're complaining about commentary
Midlandsfox Posted 2 January 2008 Author Posted 2 January 2008 I a way I agree with what last person put but, commentary is important and I think its totally disrepectful that Barber is insulting enough to them and the fact he knows nothing so if we can get Barber the sack and Nev reinstalled for Coventry the fans aura will be back and we may all go forward with out Barber the sheep shagger
MC Prussian Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 We're almost in the relegation zone and we're complaining about commentary Well, we've been doing that for years now.
Midlandsfox Posted 2 January 2008 Author Posted 2 January 2008 why dont we all do what the guy on the www.lcfc message boards suggests lets all write into radio leicester surely all of us complaining can make it happen

lee7 Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 barber said yesterday that he was suprised mattock was coming off because he was playing quite well. then when all the fans who went to the game get back they said mattock was sh*t.
Fat Ron Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Let him know how you feel if you think it will do any good Email Barber Direct.
Ultra Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Barber was dire yesterday, probably even more so than the team he is paid to commentate on. At one stage he referred to his summariser as "Matt Jones" and throughout the game referred to a league table that was out of date. He's arrogant, inept and unprofessional. But as long as he continues to enjoys the favours of the club, the beeb will continue to use his services. And bringing Nev Foulger (a sky blue) back would probably make matters worse!
Corky Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 I reckon we should get Darren Fletcher from Five Live in. He used to be on Century, and is a Forest fan, but he wasn't biased, and I think he wanted all the East Midlands clubs to do well. Plus he knows the Birch. Stan Collymore should be the summariser. Walshie is good, Taggs was good but Collymore is excellent. Real in-depth knowledge and knows what he is talking about, instead of just rambling. I know a lot of people used to complain about John Sinclair, but at least he is a City fan.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Who's the Derby fan? Is it him?Sure i've read someone who works for Radio Leicester and does the sport is a Derby fan. Aye, that's him Matt Derby fan for our chief radio corespondent and a Spurs fan for our chief newspaper corespondent - it's a joke - but not a funny one

Once people reach Five Live (who incidentally employ at least two over-70s on a regular basis), they rarely, if ever, go back to local radio. So we won't be treated to Fletch or Collymore any time soon..
