OriginalRobboFOX Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 As much as I like the Gray/Tyler duo I like Alan Parry best. Talks a lot of sense and I will always remember him from doin live City games (vs. the likes of Birmingham) on Central Sport on a Sunday....
Simi Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Tyler and Gray for me. Really enjoy listening to them.
Unabomber Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Again Tyler and Gray One I really don't like is Gary Birtles who does the co-commentary for the Championship games, he is so negative about everything.
Darkzzz_ Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 that bird of motd!! ha ha!! oooopss!! i thought this was the hate thread for her!!
Sparky Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Tyler and Gray are by far the best on TV but i also like Alan Greens commentary on 5 live
DB11 Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Those two who are doing the Bolton v. Derby game atm. Dunno their names
whitlock Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 who's that bloke on radio 5 live when he does his report sounds like he's saying a bloody poem, must be gay
Joe. Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 nah sorry guys. got to be motty and lawro. John Motson: "I think that's an Abel Xavier lookalike in the crowd there" Mark Lawrenson: "I think that is Abel Xavier John" The fearsome twosome I also like Alan Parry with Andy Gray to be honest.
Ultra Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 who's that bloke on radio 5 livewhen he does his report sounds like he's saying a bloody poem, must be gay Stuart Hall? Sorry, but he's straight as a die. The camp mannerisms are just a front to fool folk like you.
Ultra Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Again Tyler and GrayOne I really don't like is Gary Birtles who does the co-commentary for the Championship games, he is so negative about everything. To be fair to him, a lot of the games he's watched this season give him every right to be negative. The Championship really is a p!sspoor league.
whitlock Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Stuart Hall?Sorry, but he's straight as a die. The camp mannerisms are just a front to fool folk like you. well he fooled me cheers pal
Tommy G Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Stuart Hall and David Pleat for comedy.. Clive Tillesly is my favourite though
Koke Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Jim Beglin is definetely the best of the ITV co-commentators. I like Jim and always have.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 3 January 2008 Author Posted 3 January 2008 I actually used to like Jonathan Pearce but the novelty wore off. Best radio commentator is either Mike Ingham, or Colin Macnamara. Best co-commentator is Jimmy Armfield and I'm really glad he got over his throat cancer.....
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 I quite like John Champion from ITV, but hate the other lot on there. Clyde Tyldsley bums Liverpool (especially Stevie G and Carragher), and Peter Drury talks as if hes quoting Shakespeare. I hate Motson with a passion. Eveytime England are winning or are playing well, he jinxes us by mentioning some moment in the past when we were hard done by, pretends he knows stats that no one could know unless your name was "Mr Wikipedia", and constantly does some annoying little chuckle whilst commentating that sounds as if he's just "arrived". And he says "Well you have to say..." ALOT
Nationwider Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Me? I'm walking in a Tony Gubba Wonderland. With Stuart Hall and good ol' Alan Parry marching alongside me.
Boycie Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Got to be Martin Tyler and Alan Parry for me, I would say Andy Gray but he arse licks all the big teams to be honest especially Man Utd and Arsenal. He bums Steven Gerrard but thats not that bad, "What a hit son, what a hit!". Pearce and that slag on MOTD would be the worst pairing on National Television closely followed by Tyldesley and David Pleat on the ITV. Alan Smith is penis as well. If we are talking about all sports Sid Wadell takes some beating in the Darts and that 9-Ball pool.
