What you mean like the 1m on Howard... oh yeah we did the same

Don't suppose being in the prem and getting 50m for the privilege has anything to do with it.

I totally understand where you are coming from.

But spending alot of money doesnt automatically mean we wil get success.

Look at Man City with their players like Petrov and Elano and a few others. They were unheard of players that cost them very little and look what an impact they have had on them. All i'm saying is, for all we know these two wingers we have got on loan could prove to be fantastic, and obviously hope they are.

Again though i do understand where you are coming from, and i would like to see some proven players come here, but looking at our position in the league, players will probably see that as being a major hinder and we cant guarentee we will even be in this league come the end of the season.

Yes... they spent to reach the premiership, they spent £1m on howard exactly as we have just done. We signed Clemence for 750k and Dudley for 1.5m, have have also been bidding £1m + for Norris... on top of the cripplingly high wages we currently are paying out.

We are not lacking in ambition, we are lacking in application.

It's 'Mandaric' you fool

£1million on Clemence

£1.5million plus on DJ

£1.5million on Howard

plus all the wages spent on 14,15,16,17 new players, how many times do we have to explain it?

hmmmmmmmmm a joke. tehehehe very funny  give this guy a medel!!!

if hes got half a brain then..................... wait hangon no need for that sort of response.

We have spent money, weve just spent it on tripe. END OF! now what we need to do is Build! we have to many tripe players playing along side average ones, we need to bring in some stars who will make those average players raise their game.

IH is building a team to save us for now! and i think hes doing a good job. Leave it be, be patiant, and watch as we rise away from the relegation zone.

Its only Jan 8th anyway! there is plenty of time to spend.

Derby didn't spend a huge amount last season to get into the Prem. I'm pretty sure that they didn't spend as much last season as we have this season when you factor in the multi-million pound transfer fees, signing on fees and large wages for out of contract players and the wages in players in on loan deals that 'Mandarich' has forked out for. You can blame Mandaric for a lot of our problems (and I certainly do) but he has not shown any reluctance to get his wallet out since he has been here.

I can't back this up with any proof from the top of my head but didn't Derby spend naff all and instead gave a load of youngsters a chance to shine?

Also-

Why are these threads coming up every now and then? Fair enough, after a bad result (every weekend) they will be about. But Tuesday? Why now? Do these people get the urge to post such shit about shit midweek?

If anything we'd probably have done better to spend less and be a bit more choosy on who it was spent on.

I mentioned at the start of MM's "reign" how much better people can sometimes buy with a little money rather than a lot.

I buy and sell every day and have noticed it dramatically.

When flushed with money I take unnecessary risks and become a bit casual in checking things over. How that could apply to City!

When I'm skint I become very selective, check everything methodically and invariably surprise myself with the quality of items I can get my hands on.

Managers are dealers - they buy and sell footballers. They'd be careful too if they were spending their own money on fees and wages.

But when it's someone else's money, and there's a lot of it, then they can become like pools winners, totally reckless.

Would anyone seriously say we couldn't have bought better and probably considerably chaper than City over the summer?

They did buy/sign on quite a few players like Oakley, Howard, Fagan, Maken (I think), Leacock, Darren Moore, Pearson in fact he's right they did spend alot of money.

So have we though. Differnce is we've been a bit silly.
