Simon Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1212969,00.html Leicester City have today confirmed that young winger Max Gradel will remain on loan with AFC Bournemouth until the end of the season. Gradel joined the Cherries for an initial three-month at the start of the campaign, and has scored five goal in his 19 appearances to date. The 19-year-old was a part of the Foxes U18 side that won the FA Premier Academy League title last season. Real shame IMO, think he deserves his chance. And If Dario Gradi shows an interest, that says something.

Mark Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 Rubbish. We've sent out Hayes and Gradel and are relying on two Hungarian wingers who have never played in England before. Why send him back out on loan before Ollie has watched him in any first team or reserve matches? Yes the experience is will do him good, although the experience of being relegated maybe not so much.

Crewe would have been better in terms of football if he was going on loan, but you can imagine given his circumstances why he wanted to go back there. Still would prefer him getting first team games here though.

This bloke has has a traumatic time coping with the death of his mother, has played a fraction of the season as a result, yet has still scored two goals more than Fryatt while playing just one division below ours and specifically on the wing. I'll bet now that neither of our new wingers get five goals in the second half of the season. I doubt if our specialist right wingers have accumulated even three goals between them over the last four years.

It's unfair not to give the new lads a chance IMO, you say you don't want players to fail and then say things like that. Utter bollocks. He should also have had his chance, but hopefully Gradel will do really well and come back next season, in a better, winning team and set the division alight.
Rodders Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 Hopefully this means we've got another 1 or 2 wingers on the way.
Joe. Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 Disappointing really. Wingers are what we desperately need in this side at the moment and we should be looking to give Gradel his chance soon. Although we've just brought in the two Hungarians, we could still do with some backup at least.
Jimmy Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 Doesn't his contract run out in the summer? Even if it does he can't leave on a free so long as we offer him equal or greater terms as he has at the moment

Who's not giving them a chance? I'd love to lose that bet and you can be absolutely certain I wish em well. I've never seen either play so I've no pre-conceptions. It's just that five goals is a lot for a modern winger to score in half a season. Only Hume in our squad managed that sort of scoring last season and that gives a damned good indication of what we're sending out to Bournemouth. My bet stands.
Mark Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Go Max I'm sure hope Ollie is realizing the mistake he made, I said at the time relying on the two Hungarians isn't going to work.
shen Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Even if it does he can't leave on a free so long as we offer him equal or greater terms as he has at the moment If he rejects a contract offer here and doesn't sign with anyone until his contract expires, he's free to leave and sign on a free with someone else, no? edit: congrats to Max! Hopefully people at the club will take notice and monitor his progress closely

Geo V Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Well Done to Gradel. He is exactly what we need to see happen to our young kids. Go out on loan, impress and come back better for it. Despite the personal setback in his family he seems to be back on track so lets hope he has a strong finish to the season and is then in a position to challenge for a first team squad spot during pre-season.

What was it Leicester didn't like about him? Iffy temperament? I'd swop that for the rate he scores goals. How many's Fryatt got?

How does Fryatt even come into this discussion apart from you hatred for him because of Loverboy 1 being kicked out to Lincoln

How does Fryatt even come into this discussion apart from you hatred for him because of Loverboy 1 being kicked out to Lincoln a) Didn't say you did. b) Didn't mention Holloway in relation to Gradel. c) The only thing I "hate" about Fryatt is that he doesn't score enough goals andwe need some more. Hence his relevence to Gradel.
lildave3 Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 Are we ever going to see him make a first team appearance?
