He made Clem play well(had one of his best games i think all saeson today). Well done Oakley for seeing the light and realising derby are shite,coming to a better club along with howard.

The influence he had on the players around him (Clemence in particular) was evident for all to see. His range of passing was superb and he also made his fair share of tackles as well.

vim23 Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 As i live in Derby i have a big smile on my face tonight. I work with a lot of Derby fans and they know we've got a good signing in Oakley. Their best player this season and for the money a steal. Man of the match today, always had time on the ball, never panicked and made players around him play better which is a sign of a top player.

I thought it was nice to see someone in the middle of midfield that had some awareness and creativity about him. Clemence also benefited having a genuine midfielder around him. Was interesting to see that Clemence played on the right hand side of the midfield and Oakley played left. Not something I've seen done to often in the past.

Raj Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Probably just me but i thought Oakleys class even made Clemo play better. I'm liking the fact we have a couple of decent clever midfielders who may be able to concentrate on passing to strikers instead of worrying about other things.
