SystonFox Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 what happens if the winner chooses a ST in the corporate seating and not enough £5 has been donated?!!!!
James. Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 what happens if the winner chooses a ST in the corporate seating and not enough £5 has been donated?!!!! The draw will be redone and someone who is hopefully not a c**t will win.
SystonFox Posted 18 January 2008 Author Posted 18 January 2008 just alerting you to the possibility that someone may do that? how much does a corporate seating ST cost anyway?
James. Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 just alerting you to the possibility that someone may do that?how much does a corporate seating ST cost anyway? I appreciate you making us aware. I have no idea what it costs but obviously if it is over £500 it isn't a realistic prize anyway. This is about raising money for Foxestalk with a season ticket as the incentive. People are trusted not to try and abuse that and if they do then we will find someone who appreciates the spirit in which the competition is being run. EDIT - now put your name down Syston!!!
Daggers Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 *Unfair alert* Paying money to FT via Paypal will mean that Mark does not receive £5 and will end up subsidising the venture. Plus, if not enough people chip in then returning the money via Paypal will mean they lose out too. Plus, what happens to leftover money? Plus, what about someone winning who is a kid/student and gets a cheaper ticket? Don't want to be negative but I think it'd be better to iron out all the bumps before drawing up a list s'all.
James. Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 1. Geo V2. James the Blue 3. andyh1884 4. Ian Noddoway 5. LFF 6. Ian, Ian, Ian O 7. Maybes 8. The People's Droydski 9. Master Fox 10. SamL 11.Thracian 12. davieG I think you should specify a specific amount say £350 and it should be minumum of a hundred I think you're right. Only possible concern is that some people may be put off paying £5 if the odds go well over 100-1 for winning. Personally I think that'd be a tight so yeah let's say minimum 100. We may not even get that many! As for the limit £350 sounds good, I assume that'll buy a decent season ticket in the kop or L1. At the risk of triggering another debate (!) I'd guess that's the most likely destination for the winner.
Daggers Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 And would it be possible to buy a season ticket for a team that is actually good?

Personally, I'll stick a fiver in and if the draw isn't done, Mark won't have to return it.

All fair points and I was expecting someone to raise a post like this. Maybe I don't understand Paypal well enough, how come Mark wouldn't receive the £5? Do Paypal charge a commission on every payment? Payments should only be made when the list is full or a deadline is reached. This would avoid returning money. So I guess a deadline would need to be decided? Let's say end of the season? Leftover money? Not sure what you mean. Season ticket + donation to Foxestalk = total pot. If a student/kid wins then there's a bigger donation to Foxestalk... OR the difference between an adult ticket and a child/student ticket gets donated to a charity? Just my thoughts. Suggestions welcome.
davieG Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 All comments in here Entries HERE Ian Noddaway - only thing is, how do we get our money to you? James the Blue - Possibly the best plan is to donate your £5 to Mark through his paypal link and then he can transfer the season ticket cost to Geo or myself for us to arrange sorting out the winner.Obviously as long as Mark is ok with that. davieG - I think you should specify a specific amount say £350 and it should be minumum of a hundred

Daggers Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Can I be the first person to mention 'mass debate' in the thread?
James. Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Has Mark agreed to this yet then? Not that I know of. I guess we'll have to hold off on mass debating (copyright Daggers) until we get the green light from the boss.

Mark Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Sounds good but £0.37p will go to paypal each time for every £5, so £37 overall . and "Boss"
The People's Hero Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Sounds good but £0.37p will go to paypal each time for every £5, so £37 overall .and "Boss" Is there a better way to do it mate? I can BACS it straight to your account from mine, if you prefer.
James. Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Sounds good but £0.37p will go to paypal each time for every £5, so £37 overall .and "Boss" In know, only joking chap. Anyway, we want to avoid giving Paypal anything so my other idea is that we divide the entrants into groups of say 20. Then 5 or more trusted members provide their group with their bank details to pay the £5 in. Once everyone has paid their trusted member then the cash can be collated to Geo or myself or someone who then organise the season ticket and donation...
hairy Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 I appreciate you making us aware. I have no idea what it costs but obviously if it is over £500 it isn't a realistic prize anyway. My Company has has a pair of tickets in the old Dirctors suite. They cost £1200 or £600 each. For that you get to go to every game (cup matches included) a parking space in either the main car park or Filbert Street, two course meal before hand, a private bar, padded seat, the toilets are always empty, match day prog and a bint who opens the door for you. Not bad when you consider the price of a season ticket for debenture holders is £750 without nosh or parking. So is everyone in the corporate bit a **** James the Blue?

I said the winner would be a c**t if he requested an expensive season ticket in the corporate area thereby reducing the donation to Foxestalk.

Dr The Singh Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 If Mark would email me his address etc, I will post a cheque for £5!!! I don't have a paypal account, and can't be arsed to have one!!

If they want to sit somewhere else, they can put the money on top, i presume they'd buy a season ticket anyway, so they'd be saving money anyway. How will the winner be drawn?

How will the winner be drawn? Yeah I was thinking about that and really wasn't too sure how do it fairly. I guess if there's a Foxestalk game in the summer or around the time the season ends the draw could be done then. Name out of a hat, that kind of thing. At least there would be witnesses and stuff. Better than just one of us making the draw alone... oh look JTB has won, get in JTB!
