Bert Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Hammond couldn't compose a shit. *Edit, fook off Big Ricky.
Daggers Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Ooh, hang on, my bad - the topic is King isn't it!
The Reverend Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Elvis I'm talking about. Doesn't anyone think it's funny that our faithful informers at the Leicester Mercury, Radio Leicester and the OS say sod all about Elvis Hammond. Daggers has his theories which would fit in well with the wall of silence but whatever the situation, doesn't anyone think it reasonable that the fans get some sort of update. If it's all about (ankle) then what's the prognosis? This month? This season? Never? If not then what? Where's the questions and answers? Every on here bar me and about two others thinks Hammond's about as useful as a footballer as a demolition ball would be for a boat. But there's been times aplenty this season when City were desperate for someone with his pace and considerable nuisance value not to mention the goals everyone pretends he never scores. Probably because the club is trying to make us think that hes gone.
Master Fox Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 I would actually welcome a return of Elvis into the first team. We were a better team when we had Elvis compared to what we are now.
City Fan Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 I think it's testament to the embarrassment of the club that we paid money for this joker. After having him on loan first! FFS could they not see that he was shite.
Lovejoy Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 After having him on loan first! FFS could they not see that he was shite. Those spectacles of Leveins clearly weren't doing the trick. Should have gone to Specsavers!
Fatbloke Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Elvis is still plagued by his ankle injury and is probably considered a write off.
Calum McDermott Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Theres an injury update in the programme every week.
Zingari Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Elvis is still plagued by his ankle injury and is probably considered a write off. is this true ?or just guessing
Daggers Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 is this true ?or just guessing The words 'no' and 'yes' definitely feature in the answer.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 I will grace this thread with a serious response regarding a related issue.Information on injuries at this club is f**king diabolical. Why can't we have a part of the OS that is regularly updated with those who are injured, what there injury is and how long they will be out for. Bearing in mind our OS probably couldn't even organise a bumming in a prison this doesn't really surprise me but is it REALLY too much to ask? This is a new saying to me! Does anyone actually organise them or does it just happen? Any ex cons care to digress?
filbertway Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 He's keepign on the DL after his cocaine washed up.
The Stig Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Elvis is quite simply not good enough for this team and his career here is over. BUT we should be getting more info about his injury as at the moment he is still a first team player.
Koke Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 On Monday can someone call or text into the studio and ask specifically about Elvis and his situation. Ask Barber and Birch directly and see if they have or will give us some answers.
The Stig Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 On Monday can someone call or text into the studio and ask specifically about Elvis and his situation. Ask Barber and Birch directly and see if they have or will give us some answers. Like Barber will know about anyhting going on at LCFC.
Nationwider Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Without wishing, or ever wanting, to read Holloway's mind, it's fairly evident that he's got set ideas on how he wants to play this season. Even if Hammond was fit enough to win The World's Strongest Man and the Olympic Decathlon, I couldn't see him getting a game.
Fatbloke Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 The words 'no' and 'yes' definitely feature in the answer. You`re absolutely correct in your choice of answers Mr Daggers, the only slight error comes in the order of the two words.
Daggers Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Even if Hammond was fit enough to win The World's Strongest Man and the Olympic Decathlon, I couldn't see him getting a game. What about The Krypton Factor and Stars In Their Eyes? What then?
Nationwider Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 What about The Krypton Factor and Stars In Their Eyes? What then? I think if he made the second half of Fifteen To One, he might get a look-in.
Thracian Posted 28 February 2008 Author Posted 28 February 2008 I can't be arsed. You carry on lauding the merits of Elvis. I'll laugh when he's released. You're fighting a losing battle, my friend... Which is a shame because we'll miss his dis-allowed goals! Doubtless you'll laugh when we're relegated too.
Fatbloke Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 As I mentioned earlier Elvis is still injured and is considered a write off, having said that while the lad has pace he can`t play football, I remember a quote from a friend of mine within the club, "if he ever learns how to play football he could be useful" I don`t think anyone from FT would find relegation amusing Thracian but what many will find quite funny is the very thought that a fully fit Elvis would have any say in reducing the chance of it happening.
Scow Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Every on here bar me and about two others thinks Hammond's about as useful as a footballer as a demolition ball would be for a boat. So that's you, Ultra and Elvis himself then.

I'd doubt you go back as far as Frank Large. Frank couldn't play football either but he did cause havoc in and around the box. Hammond's style is different but the outcome is similar. Perhaps your friend should try marking him cos I think it would be a nightmare and a damn sight harder than Fryatt. Not all strikers are silky smooth stylists. As for Elvis making a vital contribution perhaps you'll stand reminding where we stood last season before Leeds lost their 10 points. We escaped relegation by four points because without what I'm going to mention we'd have slipped below Hull on goals difference. Forgetting his other goals/assists.... Hammond scored a vital goal at Birmingham to give us a draw. One point. He scored one and made one in the unexpected 2-1 win at Wolves (3 points). That makes a total of four points he was pivotal in us securing. And all the bloke has ever gets on here is stick.

Not the 10 times he gets caught offside in a game, not the easy chances he fluffs. Are you also trying to say that, we stayed up because Hammond scored two goals? If i was you, i wouldn't get your hopes up of him playing for Leicester again....
