Has "The King" abdicated?

Elvis I'm talking about.

Doesn't anyone think it's funny that our faithful informers at the Leicester Mercury, Radio Leicester and the OS say sod all about Elvis Hammond.

Daggers has his theories which would fit in well with the wall of silence but whatever the situation, doesn't anyone think it reasonable that the fans get some sort of update.

If it's all about (ankle) then what's the prognosis? This month? This season? Never?

If not then what? Where's the questions and answers?

Every on here bar me and about two others thinks Hammond's about as useful as a footballer as a demolition ball would be for a boat.

But there's been times aplenty this season when City were desperate for someone with his pace and considerable nuisance value not to mention the goals everyone pretends he never scores.

I really couldn't care less where he is, and I don't think I'm alone.

I think it's testament to the embarrassment of the club that we paid money for this joker.

We're probably now working on him to retire so we get a REAL pay off from the insurers.

Basically, the club haven't updated us because nobody cares. Everybody has the ability to read between the lines.

Thracian - you don't even WANT an update. You'd be up in arms if Milan/IH/LCFC came out and said, 'oh alright, yeah, it's because the lad is sh it'.

You'd do your nut.

I will grace this thread with a serious response regarding a related issue.

Information on injuries at this club is f**king diabolical. Why can't we have a part of the OS that is regularly updated with those who are injured, what there injury is and how long they will be out for.

Bearing in mind our OS probably couldn't even organise a bumming in a prison this doesn't really surprise me but is it REALLY too much to ask?

I don't think it's really that easy though.

Being sensible, if they don't know what is wrong with Elvis' ankle, it's hard to say when he'll be back.

I take your point, the information is not communicated to us AT ALL.

The fact is, we don't have any key players injured so they probably assume we don't care.

They don't update us regarding Elvis' ankle everyday just like they don't update us regarding his lack of ability everyday.

They wouldn't, for example, update us if Rab Douglas had a virus or if Alan Maybury stubbed his toe etc etc.

That's about the size of it yet Milan talks about having regular meetings with fans to address their grievances.

But even if we DID have key players injured there still wouldn't be a dedicated section of the OS explaining what's going on. On top of the information I already said I'd like to see they could also advise on progress, treatment, etc. Injuries are obviously a major factor for a football club and at times can have a large effect on morale, performances, etc.

It wouldn't be hard to update and would provide a single source of reference for fans to monitor progress of our injured players.

This isn't the first time a player has gone AWOL with no updates coming from the club. Fair enough who really gives a f**k about Hammond but while he's on our books we should be provided with some form of feedback.

I think we do get updates when a key player is injured.

I know there isn't a dedicated part of the site - and that's not a bad idea.

But if it were Clemence, Kisnorbo, Hume etc who got injured, I think we would get better updates.

The fact is, there is nothing wrong with Elvis' (ankle) is there? It's a euphemism.

We do get injury updates.... about players who are half decent.

I should point out that there is still plenty of shouting for the merits of Fryatt and a few others who clearly aren't nearly as good as Hammond.

I promised last season that Hammond would get more goals/assists than Fryatt last season and so it proved.

Hammond 6 goals and 3 assists in 31 appearances or one every 3.5 games.

Fryatt 4 goals and 1 assist in 32 appearances or one every 6 games.

I am confident it would have been the same this season had Hammond been fit except that the gap would have been wider.

Everything is ifs and buts with you!

Deal in reality.

Elvis is finished here and rightly so.

Maybe Fryatt is too, I don't know.

What you are talking about is immaterial. It is a comparison of two underachievers at this level.

At least Fryatt has scored goals elsewhere. Elvis is a joke. He has NEVER scored goals at any level.

The reality is there in black and white.

Your ancient history matters not one jot and has its own context entirely.

I should close this really but it's too funny.

I can't be arsed.

You carry on lauding the merits of Elvis.

I'll laugh when he's released.

You're fighting a losing battle, my friend... Which is a shame because we'll miss his dis-allowed goals!

Are these goals from last season reserve team goals as well?

I think it includes life goals...

1) be a gansta.

2) "score" the highest number of dis-allowed goals... ever.

3) be offside more than onside.

4) fake ankle injury

5) score less league goals than Kisnorbo in his entire career.

6) host pimp my ride

And offsides.

And disallowed.

And what he would have scored if he'd been more composed after one of Shush!'s many 'near-things' that no one else apart from Thracian saw.

No, no you are not.

I really don't see him offering anymore than any other striker at the club.

Much rather see Sappleton in, and i'm sure Bert will agree.
