davieG Posted 4 March 2008 Posted 4 March 2008 Manager Ian Holloway has this evening bolstered his squad for the Championship run-in with the signing of pacy winger Kelvin Etuhu on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season. The 19-year-old Nigerian is ineligible for tonight's home clash with Preston North End but will be available for Saturday's game against high-flying Bristol City at the Walkers Stadium. Holloway said: "We are absolutely delighted to have Kelvin on board. He will add an extra dimension to the squad that we haven't already got. "He's got absolute pace and he loves to run at people and take them on. We have got a lot of players who are sharp on the ball and can pass it but we haven't got anyone who is as direct as Kelvin. "He's still a young lad and I am sure he will be able to help us as much as we can help him along in his career." Etuhu has come through the ranks at the Citizens and made his debut for the first-team on September 25 last year in the Carling Cup victory over Norwich. A second-half substitute, the teenager set up the winning goal for Georgios Samaras. In December, Etuhu, younger brother of Dickson Etuhu who plays for Sunderland, made his first Barclays Premier League appearance for City, when he came off the bench in the 1-1 draw at Wigan. Then a week later, he bettered that with a first full start at Tottenham. But his crowning glory came on December 15 when he netted his first senior goal for the club in injury time against Bolton Wanderers to seal a 4-2 victory. In total the attacking midfielder has made eight appearances for Sven-Goran Eriksson's team so far this term. Etuhu also enjoyed a brief loan spell at League Two outfit Rochdale last season, making four appearances and scoring two goals. Etuhu, together with Kasper Schmeichel, have just returned from Thailand where they accompanied Manchester City owner and former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The duo conducted some coaching clinics with Thai children. The player has been handed the number 36 shirt.

Nath Posted 4 March 2008 Author Posted 4 March 2008 Is it just me, or is our midfield mouth watering?

Molson Canadian Posted 4 March 2008 Posted 4 March 2008 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelvin_Etuhu Kelvin Etuhu (born May 30, 1988 in Nigeria) is a footballer currently on loan at Leicester City from Manchester City, his parent club. He has previously had a loan spell at Rochdale. Kelvin plays as a forward and after scoring the wining goal in the semi's against rivals Manchester United, he went on to play in the FA Youth Cup finals in 2005/06 where Manchester City lost to Liverpool on a 3-2 aggregate. He scored the equaliser in his debut for Rochdale, coming on in the 56th minute against Wycombe and scoring in the 80th minute. His spell at Rochdale was unfortunately cut short, due to a knee injury which prompted his return to Manchester City Football Club. Kelvin grew up in South East London (Peckham) and attended St. Thomas the Apostle school for boys. He is the youngest of 3 brothers, the oldest of whom is footballer Dickson Etuhu who is currently at Sunderland AFC and also played for Manchester City FC (the other one Michael is at university). [1] He made his first appearance for City on 25 September 2007 against Norwich City in the Carling Cup, coming on as a substitute and set up the winning goal for Georgios Samaras. On 15 December 2007 Etuhu had scored his first goal in the premier league against Bolton Wanderers. Full name Kelvin Etuhu Date of birth May 30, 1988 (1988-05-30) (age 19) Place of birth Kano, Nigeria Playing position Right Winger/Forward sounds like a good loan signing to me!

Ozwin Posted 4 March 2008 Posted 4 March 2008 Our midfield is the best in the league now surely? Hendrie - Clemence - Oakley - Etuhu That's quality all he way through. Time to kick some arse in this league me thinks.

FleckneyFox Posted 4 March 2008 Posted 4 March 2008 team looks reallly balanced now. strongest team = Alnwick Stearman McAuley Kisnorbo Clapham Etuhu Oakley Clemence Hendrie Hume Howard N'Gotty, Chambers, Mattock, Wesolowski, Campbell
