So swap for Fryatt, who seems to have the knack at the mo (even if they are offside, but given a full run out...) and it's not like you're losing any pace out of the team, which is my main concern with Fryatt. And as far as I've seen, Bori hasn't done much wrong, so he'd just edge King for me and move Hendrie inside. I take it Clem and Weso are still unfit? If available one of those 2 ahead of Bori.

Fat Ron Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 If it aint broke, dont try to fix it!! 2,015,485 Shots on goal against Brizzle City on Saturday as well as dominating the game, keep the team as it was unless injury prevents us from doing so, let them build confidence in each other as well as as individuals

We've even played 4 strikers in games recently and not even scored. It really doesn't matter who we play right now, we're guff in front of goal. We MUST win the midfield battle down at St Mary's, otherwise it will be a standard 2-0 defeat for us against them there as always. Etuhu will join the attack frequently, in fact i'd perhaps play him just in behind Howard and Hendrie covering the right hand side if need be. Perhaps Laczko would be a better choice than Mattock, to support Howard as well. But we MUST win the midfield battle. We cannot afford to lsoe to Southampton.

I understand where you're coming from, but at the moment all that Howard seems to be is a big target to knock the long ball up to. At which point he knocks it down for someone else and nothing happens and playing him up front on his own won't improve that situation. I think he's a good player who is lacking in confidence. Whilst dropping him won't bring that confidence back, it might allow a player with more confidence and arguably less ability (I'm thinking Fryatt here) to have a run out. He's looked sharp whenever he's come on. I'm not one of these "Fryatt-is-god" fans, but I do believe that it's time to shuffle up front.
Jimmy Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Clapham OutPosted on: Mon 10 Mar 2008 Jamie Clapham has not travelled with the Foxes squad bound for Southampton today (Monday). The City defender, who recently joined the Club on a short-term contract from Wolves, has picked up a groin injury and has therefore not made the trip to the South Coast. Meanwhile, Patrick Kisnorbo has jumped on the coach for the journey, but is rated as 'doubtful' by Leicester boss Ian Holloway. He said: "It's disappointing news regarding Jamie but we have just got to get on with it. "Patrick is going to come with us. He might be fit enough to go on the bench, but even that will be pushing it." Holloway also conformed that Stephen Clemence (thigh) and James Wesolowski (hamstring) would miss out. He added: "James and Stephen remain on the treatment table and definitely won't feature against Southampton." OS
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Guess that's Mattock in the starting eleven then

Our team will hoof the ball whoever is up front, so if we don't have the big man up there then we'll suffer even more. That's where Holloway's problems lie, his failure to discipline his team for playing long ball and clueless football will cost him. I don't see it changing right now, so Howard has to start and hope he get's a flick on and another own goal comes from it.
Mark Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Mattock has real problems at left back when away from home but it's either him or Chambers playing out of position. Laczko and Mattock down the left is just asking for trouble manc fox The midfield and most of the team did well enough Saturday so keep it more or less the same, not a lot that can be changed in a 442 with our players. Henderson Stearman Mcauley Kisnorbo Mattock Etuhu Oakley Hendrie Hume Howard Campbell Bench: Fryatt, King, Chambers, N'Gotty, Hayles
Ric Flair Posted 10 March 2008 Author Posted 10 March 2008 Can't wait to see Hume's face when Ollie asks him to stay rooted to the left flank and make sure Mattock get's helped out at all times. The tongue will be out.

I don't think we did too badly against Bristol City. In fact, I'd say we looked good, only it was just one of those days. Gary Johnson certainly thought that and admitted as much. So more of the same with a bit more luck. Edit: Just realised you haven't picked N'Gotty. I would put him in the back four alongside either McAuley or Kisnorbo depending on fitness
