wirralsimon Posted 26 March 2008 Share Posted 26 March 2008 There are some classics in there, but a good proportion of the list is from the 70's not the 80's! Simon
Head Honcho Posted 26 March 2008 Share Posted 26 March 2008 There are some classics in there, but a good proportion of the list is from the 70's not the 80's!Simon Splitting hairs a bit aren't ya? 80's music is just a generic term for a genre of music played in the 80's it doesn't have to have been recorded in the 80's! In fact some of the best 80's music was recorded in the 70's.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 26 March 2008 Share Posted 26 March 2008 Best song to come on in the 80's room at Fan Club on Friday was The Smiths - Charming Man... I did do some jizm and I'm not afraid to admit that.
Chromophobia Posted 27 March 2008 Share Posted 27 March 2008 yeah i've been to eighties night down the fancluba few times. it's certainly a less dreading prospect going there now it's been done up, and you can actually sit down somewhere, without getting black grime although yourself. As for eighties music, REM, Dinosaur Jr, Pixies, Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth, Chameleons, JAMC, Wedding Present, Smiths, basically any alternative american rock and british post punk/shoegaze aint it. one of the best decades for music arguably. Up there with the 90's, 60's, 00's and 70's for sure..

Jordan Posted 28 March 2008 Share Posted 28 March 2008 The Fall alone put out eight great albums in that decade. AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT FORGET ABOUT OLD SKOOL HIP-HOP! one of the best decades for music arguably. Up there with the 90's, 60's, 00's and 70's for sure.. ...one of the best sentences I've ever read!
