There are some classics in there, but a good proportion of the list is from the 70's not the 80's!

Simon

Splitting hairs a bit aren't ya?

80's music is just a generic term for a genre of music played in the 80's it doesn't have to have been recorded in the 80's!

In fact some of the best 80's music was recorded in the 70's.

yeah i've been to eighties night down the fancluba few times. it's certainly a less dreading prospect going there now it's been done up, and you can actually sit down somewhere, without getting black grime although yourself.

As for eighties music, REM, Dinosaur Jr, Pixies, Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth, Chameleons, JAMC, Wedding Present, Smiths, basically any alternative american rock and british post punk/shoegaze aint it. one of the best decades for music arguably. Up there with the 90's, 60's, 00's and 70's for sure..

The Fall alone put out eight great albums in that decade.

AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT FORGET ABOUT OLD SKOOL HIP-HOP!
