Rincewind Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 England is boring, the roads are all the same, the skies are grey, there are too many rules and regulations, we cant take any risks in the name of health and saftey, we cant go out in town after 10 unless we are out getting wasted, we have to conform to standards, we are told how to bring up our children, we are brain washed into thinking what the government want us to think, we get sunshine for about 1 month out of 12, we always want more than we have, we eat into obisety, we drink into binge drinking, we have no national identity, all the houses in their streets look the same, there are too many cctv cameras, we are encouraged to borrow to live above our means, Our children cannot play outside for fear of being robbed or kidnapped, we cannot park on a yellow line for fear of getting ticketed, we are over worked, we do not get nough holidays, we have too many chavs, we have too many immigrants AND we have no sense of fun anymore. I'm sure there could be some contradictions in there but I cant be arsed to look as I have too much to do. Re 'cant take risks in the name of health and safety' Wrong. You can do what you like in your home. Wire all your electric appliances with bare wire. Over fill the bath and then plug in your electric fire. It is NOT ADVISED to do this as it could be detromental to your health and safety, but you are free to do it. Re 'You are told how to bring up your children' Wrong. You are advised how NOT to bring up your children .

I wish I could swan off to a warmer climate but I am restrained by my need for friends and family. Such is the human condition. You've got to try and make the best of it.
Lillehamring Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 i wouldn't say it is especially boring, although leicester has to be one of the dreariest city centres i have ever been in, i found it dragged me down into a rut of inactivity - at the risk of being repetitive, leaving england was the best move i have ever made, if for no other reason than the football season starts this weekend, so it's all year round! that and the quality of life, lack of crime and high salaries...
