Father Ted Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Wasn't the game at S****horpe televised on Sky Sports?I seem to remember falling asleep halfway through the first half, expecting to see us firing shots in from the left, the right and all over tbh, but all I was treated to was a turgid mess. I quickly turned off. I sincerely hope this is not repeated on Saturday. Otherwise, game over. We will go down. Win all our home games and we will stay up!!! Yeah, it was televised and Kisnorbo had a perfectly fine goal disallowed.
Raj Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Has anyone mentioned that this is a must win game? Or that its a 6 pointer? Or that if we dont win this we are fcuked? Yes...oh well????

demon_dog Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Getting nervous already, this is without doubt a must win game. Lose and we are completely stuffed. If we can move ahead of Southampton and Cov tomorrow it puts even more pressure on them. C'mon lads, now is the time to really work for your money, get stuck in and win the bloody game.
MPH Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 i think the fact he has signed someone who can play on the left ( amongst others) means we are going for 4-4-2 for the remainder of the season and i think whats significant of the fact he can play on the left is that he is probably planning on playing hendrie down the middle which, even though he is fit i think means clemance is on the bench. I'd go for etuhu right with bell lefthendrie and oakley down the middle. sure, some may argue 5 man defence against a top team could work but you have GOT to play 4-4-2 and get at s****horpe...

Etuhu is injured Clem and Oakley (foot) are both semi fit Hendrie could be on the right with Clem & Weso in the centre, Bell on the left
Simi Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 I really don't think there are many times in this league with a better midfield than us on paper. Clemence - Captain of a promotion winning side last year. Hendrie - Proved he's of Prem class. Oakley - Captain of another promoted side last year. Etuhu - Highly rated youngster from Prem club. If you can't get results with players like that, there really is no excuses.
Thracian Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Somehow despite all the frustration and the creeping sense of watching the tide come in while being tied to a pier support the fans have got to be a bit special tomorrow. No matter whether we field a duff team, give the ball away, go behind, miss simple chances we've gotta stick in there and lift our team over the finishing line with a win. Trouble is too many of our fans are like tyres with a slow puncture. They're full enough with air at the kick-off but gradually they get more and more deflated as their hopes disappear until the whole atmosphere finally falls flat. I'll admit it, I've felt that way myself at times. But it can't be like that. It's got to be like Birmingham at home second half last season or Preston and Barnsley away - nothing but blind, sustained and noisy support. Holloway needs to do his bit by pumping the team full of energy and giving them the confidence to be first to the ball and to make their possession count. We don't need anything half-hearted from anyone. If doubt gets into the fans it will surely seep into the team. Question is, can the fans sustain a 90-minute effort?

MC Prussian Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 I'd say we won't win, so in case we actually do, I can have a much needed new dose of enthusiasm that will last for about one week - just before we fook up yet another vital game in this battle against relegation. Inconsistency, you know. Word of the Season, imho. 3-2 Leicester. (Oh, I'm such an imbecile positive pessimist)
Father Ted Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 I really don't think there are many times in this league with a better midfield than us on paper.Clemence - Captain of a promotion winning side last year / Sh*t. Hendrie - Proved he's of Prem class / When he can be bothered. Oakley - Captain of another promoted side last year / Our only decent signing over the january transfer window. Etuhu - Highly rated youngster from Prem club / Another player this club is going to ruin If you can't get results with players like that, there really is no excuses.

I wonder?...........

If we had a leauge table for passionate fans we would surely be relegated from this division so let some look at themselves before so readily criticizing the team's displays on Saturdays.

That's why those who wish to create atmosphere should move to L or K! NOT STARTING A DEBATE BEFORE I GET DELETED!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 If we do lose this one, I'd feel deflated. Not because I think that Scunny will catch up with us, but because this is one of our best chances to take a vital three points, and, if we don't beat S****horpe, morale will take yet another battering. I reckon 2-0/1 to City. Howard and Oakley to score.
isaidno Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 I can't make my mind up weather to go or not, do they deserve my support ?
Kilworthfox Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 I can't make my mind up weather to go or not, do they deserve my support ? don't be so fookin daft, It's our club, we make it what it is, be apart of something and survive rather than not go and regret it if we lose.
