Mh. Firefox updated earlier this week, aye?

Has anyone noticed a huge increase in pop-up adverts since, or have I got a virus / spyware problem that AVG and Ad-Aware aren't finding? :dunno:

Massive coincidence if it isn't related to the update, as it started happening the very first time I loaded up Firefox after the update. It isn't just 'dodgey' sites, either, I seem to be getting them everywhere. The bit that seems most perculiar is some of them are opening up in Internet Explorer.

Which leads me onto my second question, is it possible to uninstall internet explorer?

Another problem i have with firefox, it always loses my shortcut things.

:dunno:

Never had that. Never had a problem with Firefox, this is the first time and it might not even be Firefox that's the problem. It just seemed like an odd coincidence to me.

I updated Firefox a few days ago, and straight after for 2 days it kept saying something about a server being down and basically wouldnt let me on any site on firefox. Odd, even odder was that i was on msn and internet explorer was working :dunno:

I was having that on my old man's PC earlier actually, though that often has problems with the internet so I just thought it was that. Worked after a restart.

I tried that, but to no avail, but i am on it now, seems to have fixed itself, was rather irritating as i had managed to just about remove IE so basically had no internet!

Haven't had any extra pop ups since the Firefox update earlier this week, tbh. I have got Adblock Plus enabled though, which seems to stop the majority of 'em anyway.

Just bear in mind if you're thinking of uninstalling IE that there are still some sites around that will only work in Explorer.

My Firefox problem is not being able to download lost of things.

If I go to a site that starts automatic downloads, I'm good--but if I try to right-click on something and choose "Save Image/Link/Page etc. As," or try it in the File tab, it doesn't work. :dunno:

My Firefox has actually improved since the update.

Before it kept not connecting to pages but that problem seems to have been solved now.

I use FireFox and there was an update but no difference in pop ups :dunno:

Me either, in fact I haven't noticed any difference at all.

I have noticed that since I installed the update, if I have more than 4 tabs open it is more prone to crashing.

It's crashed 3 times today already.

Mine has been crashing a lot more and not connecting to web pages but not sure if it because of the browser or router or laptop!!

Try using Internet Explorer, if everything works fine on that then it's the browser. I have quite a lot of trouble with my router as well, some nights I lose my internet connection every 10 minutes or so.

Come to think of it, mine has been crashing a lot more lately. Quite annoying to be honest, as I always seem to be half way through reading something.
