dandannieldanok Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 The Spanish League is better, or should i say has a better quality of teams through out the league. What im trying to say is that the teams further down the table in La Liga are better sides than the ones we have in a similar position.Or at least i think anyway. I agree with you. England's top four may beat Spain's top four but I'd fancy the rest of the league against the bottom half of the prem.
Stevosevic Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Quality of the Spanish league looked pretty crap when i was the Nou Camp on Sunday. One game admittedly.

Sods Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Over rated piece of shit.I cant stand him. He was never the third best player in the world last year. Overrated are you mad! Hes fooking fantastic i love him. Hes immense, his pace, skill, control and a finshed article are just quality. And playing a team of nobodys, Ronaldo does it in the Prem against the Fulhams and Wigans, are they nobodys. Hes doing it at every level including the Champo League and Copa America. That game he played against Mexico was crazy.

Messi does exactly the same in La Liga playing nobodys Getafe, Mallorca and Malaga. The Premier League has more quality in the league with the likes of Spurs, Villa, Newcastle and Everton.
purpleronnie Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Didn't 2 spanish teams get through to the UEFA cup final last year, and who won the Champions League? If Man utd get through and Barcelona too. That will be 3 english teams out of 4. It wouldn't surprise me if Barcelona win it. Hope not though.

Barca are on a run of pretty bad form of late, and have Ronaldinho and Messi both out injured. To be quite honest I think Man Utd won't mind playing them at all at the moment.
lildave3 Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I'd love a Liverpool/Man United final, for viewing purposes. The two most successful teams in English history going head to head on the biggest club stage of all. Impressive. Saying that, I still want Chelsea to win it. So as long as Man United beat Barca, i'll be happy.

Would be a massive Police presence.

What is the point for United and Liverpool fans to fly across Europe to then meet up in Moscow. Can only lead to trouble.

Yeah, for sure from that point of view. But the Police would not let that happen, I guarantee it. Especially after what happened with the English in Moscow this year.
DB11 Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Well done Chelsea aswell. Liverpool Chelsea part 3 anyone? Third time lucky for Chelsea
lavrentis Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Penalty for AS Roma against the run of play. Edit: De Rossi Missed
purpleronnie Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I thought roma might beat Man u over 2 legs, what a chance to get back in it.
Joe. Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Roma wasted their big chance when De Rossi missed that penalty. At 2-1 Man Utd would have been sweating a little, and it could have spurred Roma on bigtime. But I'm looking forward to the semis now, I think United will be too strong for Barca over the two legs. My mind is being gradually swayed by the idea of them winning the competition but I'm still not sure.
Flexx Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 My mate just text me saying he saw Andy Gray in his car outside. Surely that has to be more entertaining than that game. Was boring to say the least. Good win for United though, but can see Barca winning in the semi. Barca v Chelsea final.
sdb Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 bARCA are so rubbish at the mo but i think they'll really raise their game v Utd; plus Messi should be back Liverpool - Chelsea. Oh dear god, they should fix the draw so these two never EVER PLAY AGAIN IN THIS COMPETITION. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I certainly don't think Liverpool play boring football. EDIT - In fact, I don't see how you can be bored watching a Champions League semi-final.

Admittedly it may be better this year without Mourinho's impressive yet totally unambitious tactics, but the last 4 games were all DIRE. And yes, even considering the occasion. surely others can remember how painful these fixtures were (like 80% of top 4 games)

I guess I just like watching any kind of football too much!
Flexx Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 All the game needs is an early goal. And hopefully the 2nd leg is at Anfield because games at Stamford are always boring. Chelsea sometimes excite away from home.
