Bournemouth face closure

Bournemouth are facing possible extinction after the collapse of a consortium led by chairman Jeff Mostyn.

Administrator Gerald Krasner confirmed that the original £1m offer to buy the Cherries, who are more than £4m in debt, is no longer on the table.

He said: "If people in the area do not wish to support the football club by making a bid, one of the options is to close the club down."

A meeting with the club's creditors planned for Monday still goes ahead. Krasner has revealed that he will now consider the sale of players, but the administrator will make no further announcements until after next week's meeting.

Doesn't look bright.

I fancy Mandaric will just ditch us and return to his favourite South Coast and buy Bournemouth, and try to coax Harry Redknapp to return the club.

Actually Redknapp has stated publicly that he won't let Bournemouth fold, I can see him buying the club.

I doubt he'd buy it outright. More like he'd put a consortium together like Lineker did for us.

Occurring in the same week that Moseley is being goose-stepped out from his position with the car racy people and ManU beat Roma again...hmmm, these coincidences just keep mounting up and up.

yeah looks bad, Harry may not be able to put money into them because of conflicting interests or something, dont know if anyone remembers when Chelsea played CSKA in the european cup and people were going on about Abramovich having conflicting interests because his company own a stake in CSKA. It will mix the table right up because they'll have get rid of the results of fixtures Bournemouth have played in.

Its a pretty ridiculous situation and football authorities should do more like the SFA/SPL have done with Gretna. The FA or the Football League could finance them until the end of the season?

On a positive side we'll get Max back and he'll save our season. But i'd rather it not come to that.

It's all down to the Cambodians

A huge catchment area of around 400,000 and 700,000 living in the county of Dorset but shitty crowds-they don't deserve a football team.

No - they deserve Home Help, only 13 of them aren't octogenarians, senile & incontinent.

I sure hope you're not implying there's something wrong with Meatloaf.

He'd love to, he just can't lose enough weight.

He would do anything for love. And that's £10 to you, love.

All this fuss. Sometimes I wish clubs would either hurry up and go bust or not.

Either way, the message to the fans and world media should be done in song, by chas n dave.

Very good news, I hope it comes off for them.

Not sure why but I've always had a soft spot for Bournemouth, I hope this offer pulls them out of their financial difficulties.

Same here. I think it's the red and black AC Milan stripes. :giggle:

Things could be on the up for Bournemouth.

Bournemouth F.C

Let's hope so.

I hope Maidstone's record as the last town to let a league club go bust will stand for a while yet.
