But I am just trying to understand what kind of person would do that. I know some guy who said one thing to me and the opposite to his mate on the phone. (I tend to think he lied to me rather than to his friend, but either way he lied/did not tell the truth) What would possess people to behave like that? Perhaps I should give him a present, a notebook entitled "Lie Tracking Book" with subtitle "white and otherwise".

It is serial and nonchalant lying / or at least bending the truth / telling different people different things and this happens on a daily basis. I don't get it.
