Webbo Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 The players and the managers must take part of the blame but the main culprit is Mandaric. He bought lots of poor players for (I suspect) non footballing reasons. Wasting the clubs money and upsetting the balance of the team.
Daggers Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 And what exactly have Rob Kelly done wrong? Apart from being completely out of his depth manager wise. The drinking/not giving a **** culture became entrenched under his leadership. His attitude of treating the players like a 'smashing bunch of lads' and allowing them to spend their time pissed and unfit set the store that all the ensuing managers had to fight against. His coaching failed to develop the talent we had coming through, worse - he set them back. I think he has as much to blame for our current predicament as anyone else. Rob Kelly is, apologies to JTB and Lisa, a cuunt.
Daggers Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 Everyone is to blame apart from those agree with the above reasons for the clubs failure? Where did I say that? I didn't. Argue against my choices if you wish...but making trite statements like "You might as well Blame Martin O'Neill, Brian Little and Gary Lineker etc while you're at it." is laughable.
BigGibbo Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 The buck stops with Mandaric closely followed by the players mostly the ones he bought!
Geo V Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 I`d blame the lot although the main blame would be aimed at the players and less at Mandaric. I cant give total blame to Holloway but he has been here long enough to at the very least guide us to mid/lower table obscurity and the guarantee of Championship football next season and he has failed woefully. He has bought in quite a few of his own players now and none have really set the world alight so must take the lions share of the blame. The players have not had the continuity that they need to feel settled but that at times can be used as an excuse because when you cross the white line you should be putting in all your efforts and many havent been doing that from what I have seen. They`ll always be people moaning at MM but I wont be as at least he is trying although his decision making on managers is questionable (then again if Dowie or warnock came in half of our lads would have started a riot )

Overall in business the buck stops with the man at the top, theres is obviously much wrong within our club & he still hasn't fixed it!
act smiley Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Mandaric - Bizarre actions in the summer, didn't set a steady foundation and his meddling signings were utter crap. Don Mackay - Bungs, surely? Allen - for every decent signing, a daft one. Megson - a couple of good cup wins and being hard to beat can't hide the 1.00 points per game league form. Holloway - plenty of time and money for a very minor and inadequate improvement. The Squad - for playing dreadfully despite being good on paper. Fans - whatever happened to the idea of staying positive. In short, everyone's at fault for a series of massive cockups.
Monk Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 I would attribute 50% of the blame to the illegal drug trade in this country and split the other 50% between Dennis Wise and Peter Taylor
Phlashman Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Martin Allen - For, impressively, buying shitter players than we already had. Megson - For wasting our time. Collins John? WTF? Roy Keane - For trying to rip us off on the Fulop front. Referees - Far Far too many bad discision this year. and a bit of blame for Milan.
Zingari Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 we would have been heaping praise on ollie if there had been a vast improvement, so i think he should shoulder most of the blame for situation
Tevez Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 MandaricMartin Allen Players who haven't come through the youth system (apart from Lee Hendrie) The "fans" who demanded MM not to appoint Warnock Everyone who sits between halfway up and the back of stands and moans at people who stand in front of them The Birch - an interfering old man who should stick to pouring pints The Merc and Radio Leicester for crawling up the club's arse for years People who chant "Ollie sort it out!" The current and previous chief executives The previous board Rob Kelly That would probably be on the right lines.
The People's Hero Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Pigeons that seem like they're going to fly in your face but never do. Why don't they ever do that?
Master Fox Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 I would attribute 50% of the blame to the illegal drug trade in this country and split the other 50% between Dennis Wise and Peter Taylor What's wrong with the illegal drug trade?
Alexikokopops Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Is that actually true? How do we know this? He said it at the time, something about receiving so many letters and emails from fans that he decided not to appoint him.
step Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 personally i'd go with the players who have underperformed in every game except an odd few e.g. Watford, Cov It is the players but it is ollie that is responsable for selecting and motivating the players. He has to go Ollie out
Zingari Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 It is the players but it is ollie that is responsable for selecting and motivating the players. He has to goOllie out it couldn't be any clearer
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 HOLLOWAY & MANDARIC. The job was to big for holloway from day one when he got the job was a massive surprise to me because i watched QPR for about 18 months and they were CRAP at best. MANDARIC. Having to much influence on signings and who comes and who goes and not signing WARNOCK love or hate him he can get teams promoted and in the play offs. Finally get rid of the birch hes only interested in a cushy job at city and let him take No1 prat Jon Barber with him.

Your top five lines / inc 3 managers. the owner and a chief exec are all negative
Thracian Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 In order of importance: =============== 1) Mandaric. The buck stops with the boss. He does the hiring, firing and major decision making. Allen? Mistake and he knows it although our League position was not at all alarming when he left. Megson? Mistake. Not only because he was never committed to the job but his appointment was never the visionary one we needed. Holloway? Mistake so far, no question. Despite good funding he has presided over a lamentable run of results. Some of the signings Mandaric approved were beyond any sort of sense and I fail to see how they could have been properly researched. You could write a short book about the errors if you wished and the way they set our season back from the start. 2) Holloway: We were 17th or thereabouts when Holloway and promply gave the players a public vote of no confidence in his total nievity. How he's since managed to steer us down to 22nd is remarkable considering he had licence to build an almost new team. He too has wasted money on some poor value signings but really it's been his tactics, his personal impact, his caution, his ill-considered remarks, his quick casting off of even his own signings, his general lack of noticeable purpose which has disappointed me. By any yardstick our failure to score in 10 games since January smacks of something seriously wrong and is totally indefensible. Especially as he contributed to that by getting rid of one of our major goal sources. 3) The Players. They've clearly suffered from a lack of inspiring leadership but many have performed way below expectations and there's been a so many specific shortcomings like not driving forward in numbers, not attacking the near post, not passing the ball constructively, not scoring an acceptable ratio of goals to shots, poor free-kicks second half of the season etc which are all factors that have contributed to our under-performance. 4) People who prepare the players, whoever they are: So many of the things I've mentioned above should be worked on regularly in training and if they have been, the work has been forgotten. Fringe players have also been allowed to lose match fitness and I can find no excuse for that. The backroom boys have also failed to get the best out of too many first team squad members for whatever reason and the value of the reserve team was negated for a good part of the season by the wasting of playing time on people who had no future at the club and whose shortcomings should have been recognised before they were signed. Our reserve team football MUST be taken more seriously. It can be, as was clearly shown last night. Putting everything right is going to be a mammoth task but requires the proper people, proper planning and the strength of will to see that planning to fruition. Our turnover of players has been ridiculous and needs to be addressed because having a throughput like a major railway junction is no good for harmony and team spirit, so vital to a successful campaign, nor does it encourage a cohesive team. Our over reliance on loanees has got to stop too. That too is bad for morale and doesn't help with the development of contracted players. Two, perhaps three well-chosen loanees might be acceptable but we really need management that knows good players, signs good players, gets good players to excel themselves and is brilliant at improving the ones who are up and coming. Do we have that? It's damn slow to show if we do.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Mandaric, although Holloway and the players have been shit. In hindsight he really should have given Worthington the job.
