You are partially correct, yes Britian is reliant on the US but still our military spend is in the top 5 of the world, infact the UK makes up about 5% of the worlds military spenditure, and is still above China's. UK is still a military might, maybe not in numbers but in technology. UK's military strategy is different from that of many other nations, unlike China, India, US who have an expansive strategy, the UK's is more desisive. As an Island, we are most dependant on our shipping routes, infact all military experts and strategist will say in a long faught war, the shipping supply lines will be a major deciding factor. And in todays world UK is one of a few elite nations that can build nuclear subs etc, trust me the UK can handle any invasion and guard it's waters but on the oppposite scale the UK does not have the numbers in weaponry to invade another nation!! The UK is currently spendin 20 billion on upgrading it's navy, it has the best fighter jet (eurofighter) and it's tank regiment is still condidered amon the elite, most of all it gives there soldiers the best training!!!

Anyway, nationalism is for people with a chip on their shoulders. I believe that Welsh/Scottish/Irish nationalism is bollox so I have to believe that about English nationalism too. The only thing I'm nationalistic about is sport.
