Chimp Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Just been browsing the Saints FC forums and came across this thread... Would you swap with Leicester? (You have to register to view it) So, what do you reckon? Would you swap places with the Saints and, at the very least, have your destiny in your own hands? Or, would you prefer the extra point and better goal difference?

James. Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I demand a poll. With a don't know option because right now I really don't. Given that their game in hand probably couldn't be any tougher I would warm to the Leicester option. However also given that we beat West Brom 4-1 and Southampton have also had some decent results against the better teams maybe they are in the better position. As I said. I don't know.
Daggers Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I tried to get into swapping once but the wife was having none of it. Shame, I really fancied that toaster.
Chimp Posted 27 April 2008 Author Posted 27 April 2008 Hobson's Choice I'd sooner swap with WBA and have their players as well. Cop out. I demand a poll. Fixed.
Koke Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Ask me tomorrow, and I'll have a clearer view. I'd rather have Sheffield United at home than Stoke away on the last day though.
clazkel Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I was discussin this with my dad today, and no i wouldn't as we are a point ahead with better goal difference, so if they lose or draw tomorrow then we are in a better position, and even though we are playing Stoke last game they are playing Sheff utd who could get in the play-offs so will want to win!
Daggers Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Put it in our own hands? Christ no! One nil up and we ****ed it up - that's our season. Give us two games to save ourselves and we'd cock that up completely as well. If the club were a video on You've Been Framed we'd be the idiot woman at a wedding dancing on a table, showing her knickers and then having the whole thing collapse.
Koke Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 This division is like a woman on her period - You can't predict her next move.
Daggers Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 This division is like a woman on her period - You can't predict her next move. How odd - because I can predict the next move of at least a couple of women at the next O21vs.U21's
Corky Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 This division is like a woman on her period - You can't predict her next move. Is that you Mr Holloway?
Koke Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 How odd - because I can predict the next move of at least a couple of women at the next O21vs.U21's I'm going into hiding
Chimp Posted 27 April 2008 Author Posted 27 April 2008 This division is like a woman on her period - You can't predict her next move. Surely that should be pre-menstrual? Um, anyway, I tend to agree with DB, I'd prefer the extra point, the better goal difference and the chance to play against a team which only needs a point to secure automatic promotion.
Joe. Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 No way. Their game in hand is against West Brom. And our extra point and goal difference could become crucial.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 No way.Their game in hand is against West Brom. And our extra point and goal difference could become crucial. If Leicester was where Southampton was, yes. Then id have a chance of going to more fooking games!! Although possibly not next season
kingston_fox Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 that's all very well but then we somehow managed to get a result at west brom.... the only advantage they have is that they have the same chance we did yesterday which is that it's all in their own hands whilst we are busy crossing our fingers and trying to avoid black cats. i still fancy them to get something against sheff utd but then i wouldn't bet against us getting a draw against stoke.... god i hate this.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 It's a hard one. West Brom away is a very tough game but as has been said before shock results aren't exactly uncommon in this division as our victory at the Hawthorns showed. One thing we should be extremly thankful for is that the weekends results have left United with an outside shout of the play offs if they win, so they have something to play for. Also obviously the Baggies have promotion/silverware to gun for. The thing that worries me the most, is that Southampton will be up for this, with a packed St Marys behind them, they'll have the chance we had on Saturday and I'm not so sure they'll blow it in quite the same way we did. But as for the question, would I swap with Southampton, probabley not, I'd rather have the points in the bag and hope other underperforming sides fuk up, than bank on our lot going anywhere and geting a result. So as much as I think Southampton will probable end up doing us. No I wouldn't swap with them.
dandannieldanok Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I'd rather be in Southampton's position with the players at their disposal. I really can't see us getting a point at Stoke whereas the Saints at least have some hope with the likes of Stern John and Andrew Surman. When both teams really need goals, Southampton are the only ones that will get them. Obviously in defence they've been dogshite but I'd rather have a decent attack. I think they'll beat Sheff Utd on the last day, they rolled over Bristol City pretty easily a few weeks ago and I can forsee a similar result.
Zingari Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 no swap for me Leicesters position is slightly better because at least our main rivals are not ( in all probability ) going to win the FA cup and rub salt further into our wounds
Darkzzz_ Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I dont think i would like to have the last two games that saints have!!! Can we just be West Brom instead or are we not allowed to do that in this poll?? Ah bollocks.... relegate all the bottom 8 clubs.... we deserve it....
