Fueling discontent

No question about that. Most people I know who are addicted to smoking, or other things for that matter, have additional problems which only makes the legislation even harder to justify because, to the victims, these problems only seem more pronounced as a result, not easier.

Some smoker's feel ostracized and while it is easy for non-smokers to feel unsympathetic about that, it's a pretty meiserable feeling for the smokers.

You really do blow with the mind.

Last week smokers were lazy, sub-human, scum.

Now you don't want anyone upsetting them!

That's not a quote I can remember but you carry on being inventive by all means.

But you did describe them as follows:

It's a foul habit conducted by selfish people who don't give a toss how they affect others.

I don't like getting involved in happenings between you and TPH because I don't have owt against you, but I just remember this because it pissed me off to be honest.

I'm happy to go along with Thracian on this - I've yet to meet a considerate one.

and what would a considerate one do as opposed to an unconsiderate one?

A considerate smoker walks the extra 20ft to stand outside the exit gates at half time, instead of smoking in the toilets thinking nobody will notice.

Well by this definition I'm considerate.

£5.63 a gallon down here for diesel :@

What are you having to do - drill for the stuff yourself, then refine it? :D

It'll soon be cheaper for us all to buy our own restaurants and filter the cooking oil!

Before the debate on Radio 5 last night, about 11.30 Richard Bacon said "We'll be talking about OPEC's claim that the price of oil could double to $200 a barrel after midnight"

I was about to rush out and panic buy*, when I realised they meant that they would talk about it after midnight... not that the price would go up after midnight

Young Bacon really needs a better command of the mother tongue.

*I have never panic-bought (if that's the word) in my life and people who do really annoy me, cos it's usually the panic buying that creates a shortage rather than any real phsyical supply of product.

the Government steals more than any other European Government in tax?

Just a quick question - if you don't think that motorists should be taxed, then who should be?

It's the selfish, lazy ones that give you all a bad name, I'm afraid. Come The Revolutionthey will be first against the wall.

No, I'm an anti-smoker, however I do appreciate that smokers ought to be able to smoke somewhere, but I would rather they did not smoke in my presence. Whilst I appreciate those who have respected non-smokers and no smoking areas in the past, I have come across many smokers who don't give a crap about the feelings of those who don't want to breath in their smoke and end up stinking like an ashtray. It's a shame because I know some smokers who are extremely reasonable.

I know some bang on about "nanny states", but at the end of the day, if everyone was reasonable and considerate, perhaps the State wouldn't need to take Draconian measures, not just with smoking, but across the board. :dunno:

I was joking. Reformed smokers are the worst people to go on about giving up. They are the sort who would line people up against the wall.

I always smoke outside even at home. Cant stand the smell of stale smoke and dirty ashtrays in the morning.

But that's nothing - you should hear me on the subjects of freebasing and masturbation.
