Koke Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Welcome to League 1 from your friends down the A47. Been reading this board with interest today and its interesting to see the insight (and lack thereof,) your posters display towards league 1.As a rule the standard is not hugely worse than the bottom half of the Championship, I see you're already trying to reign in the deluded few who seem to think you'll turn up and walk it due to having the biggest stadium and overinflated wage bill. You won't. Forest didn't, Wednesday didn't and Bradford even managed to get relegated. As for players in and out, you need to adjust your sights for a bit. You need to worry about keeping the ones you have more than poaching new talent, Championship sides could well poach the most promising players and I think your wishlists are a bit off if you really think the rest of this division is going to roll over and give you their star players. On a personal note you've got no hope of getting Boyd or Mclean, if either leaves it will be to a higher division side, you would just be a sideways move. I'm glad you're looking forward to visiting our 4000+ terrace, make the most of it, it has great acoustics and there are some decent away friendly pubs nearby. Nearer the time if you want advice for where to drink or how to get to fortress London Road please visit posh.net, the biggest Posh fansite on t'interweb. See you next season Hardly sideways. You just got promoted, we just got relegated. So we just happen to meet half way. Anyway, behave yourself. We are the big boys in the league. We do as we please.
Papa Shango Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Saints fan here. Obviously I'm delighted we stayed up and had a great time with the pitch invasion yesterday, but feel really bad for you guys. Half my family support Leicester so I've always had a soft spot for them. Used to love the Martin O'Neill League Cup days with Ian Marshall, Izzet, Elliot etc... You deserve a lot better now. I'm sure you'll be back soon enough. Hopefully we can both get back into the Premiership in a few years. Best of luck next season!

Well done on yesterday and good luck for next season. I am hoping this is just going to be a flying visit to league one
tshine Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 it's obvious why we went down. We didn't have a Nils-Eric Johansson to score the winner
Durnerz Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Woke up this morning and it was all like a bad dream. Then I came on here and had a goosey at which shitholes we shall be frequenting next season, plenty of days out at the beach mind. Went into work and got the ripping of a lifetime from all sides, still somehow I am beaming here at everyones positivity and like most on here i'm wanting the new season to start tomorrow.

Thank you Papa n see you soon Hi everyone am a newbie so please cut me some slack. I used to be aregular at filbo but due to personal circumstances have'nt been to the walkers untill the Plymouth match. I also managed the SWFC match last week and after watching other games on tv. I have just one question. How dose a great club like ours that built a reputation on fight spirit and guts oh and never say die end up looking so gutless. Oh and even totaly clueless infront of goal. yet score more goals at Chelsea than some clubs have in 3 or 4 visits to the bridge?

Oh, and I haven't got a ****ing clue. Just pray we beat Northampton twice next season.
Raj Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Feeling of total humiliation and dejection after ydays game. Felt betrayed and dirty. It got worse as i watched it all on Sky news how the days events unfolded. Didnt want to watch, but couldnt hep it. Slept on it and done a days decorating ad STILL cant fathom that we are in LEAGUE ONE Some may learn to accept it quicker than others and good luck to them. I personally know people who could lose jobs at LCFC and for them it is not a laughing matter. The team was a joke, the players are a joke, the tactics throughout the season have been a joke and Ollie is a fcuking joke. Anyone who thinks we will walk LG1 is a bigger fool than me. We cant win 2 games in a row. We have a crap home record over the last 3-4 years. We have players who have no desire to play for this club and some who will already be ringing their agents. we'll have less money next year and still have to pay these muppets who are left Championship wages. 40 odd players and we couldnt pick 11 that can win 2 games in a row!!! What a farce. Think the negativity surrounding this club over the years will all be turned upside down when we are in LG1?? Think someone will wave awand and get us winning football matches? Dont think al the other 'ikkle' shitty teams will want to beat 'massive' Leicester City and over perform while our leaders on the pitch battle and prevail as victors??? I wish i could share other peoples optimism but at the moment i dont. Never mind eh,i'll just take some more abuse from The Derby,Forest and Leeds fans at work.

Spot on Raj , Not gonna be easy
OzFox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Oh well, never mind. This has been on the cards for years. Crap chairman, crap managers, crap players and a ground that has the atmosphere of a mausoleum Even "Topps Tiles" has a third division ring about it Somebody let me know when we start signing skillful footballers instead of clueless athletes, and actually start trying to score goals Goodbye Holloway/Mandaric. Thanks for boring me senseless

Sums it up perfectly What really pisses me off is that we didn't go down fighting, i know its been said a hundred times over but there was no passion, they just seemed to think we would survive like the other years.

Totally Agree Socceroo Fox, it just seemed like it was a given...still can't believe it. The feelings only going to get worse come closer to the new season
Saint_Pahars Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Hi all. I'm not here to gloat nor abuse, I actually do feel sorry for Leicester City fans, I see you guys as a very similar club to Saints in terms of structure, size and fanbase so I sympathise. I'm delighted obviously that we stayed up, but I wanted Coventry to go down if the truth be told. Although saying that I think Holloway is a complete ****, he's been spouting off for a few years about how much he doesn't like us and how we supposedly think we're bigger than we are etc etc, and I'm glad it's come back to bite him in the arse. I also have to laugh at Mandick, who has also on numerous occasions slagged us off during his days with the Skates. Those two deserve relegation but the fans don't, there has always seemed to be a good turnout at Leicester this year. Good luck in League One
RedOnRed Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 It certainly does spoil your summer this sort of thing. All the parameters change like attractive pre-season friendlies, attracting players and managers, attendance and motivation levels, etc, etc. In a way Manadaric got you into this mess but you've now got to rely on his vision, backing and funds to get you out of it.
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Good to see another Northants Fox. Welcome.Oh, and I haven't got a ****ing clue. Just pray we beat Northampton twice next season. Yes i am a northants fox, i am actually a kettering fox, i have had some stick from kettering fans , they were saying how much we deserve to rot in league one!!! You F****** what.....!!! They think they are the big boys now, one minute they have 20 fans the next they have 2000 fans there!!! Very Fickle.... Glory hunters!! I really cant wait until next season, i want to be at every game, i really want us to get that winning feeling back!! I will be seeing a lot of you next season in some of the dire grounds in this league!!! Come on City!!!
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 God, I managed to forget about City yesterday, but I knew I would look straight on FT when I got in work this morning and it all comes flooding back... The highs we went thru when Sheff Utd took the lead, the great saves Hendo made, then the lows, ''Southampton are winning....'', the nearlies when Gary Mac hit the bar, when Stears had that chance, when we nearly won a peno, then the lows again, its all over at St Marys... City doin nothin in the 4 minutes injury time... the despair. I feel sick... Its jus sunk in again....

lcfc_jme Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 and to stez for giving you one of the plasters he'd just gone of to buy Thanks for that, though I didn't really think I needed to clean it up and wanted to leave it. Had no idea it was you, to be honest, kind of embarrassing to meet you for the first time with tears in my eyes. Still hasn't sunk in yet, I just can't bring myself to accept it right now. When Ched was talking to me about the togetherness the away day bunch will experience next season, the new array of songs we'll have, the away trips to Millwall and Peterborough (4,000-fan terrace), I knew he was making sense but it doesn't even come close to feeling like a half-decent prospect at the moment. I'm still gutted. I pray no "fans" of the Big Four clubs try and mock me for this in the coming weeks, it could be quite painful for them. Tomorrow is going to be torture. I have a 2 hour law lecture with 4 Forest fans and 5 Derby fans. It's going to be a nightmare. Where are the positives??

I had Southampton fans all around college today but in different classes and not as many as that. Thats just pure bad luck!
paulstokes Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Wow that is bad! I had Southampton fans all around college today but in different classes and not as many as that. Thats just pure bad luck! Commiserations. Hopefully you'll be back soon. Sunday was nervy as hell. I was disgusted with our "performance" at the valley. Over the course of the season the person with the least points obviously deserves to go as the table doesn't lie but any cov fan coming on here gloating needs balls i tell ya we've hardly been the shining light of the championship.

lefox Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Lisa, I'm working in Notts, it's f**king horrible, I will not be allowed to forget this for a looooooooong time.
Cal Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Not been bad today, loads of Leicester shirts around college.
