OzFox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Oh well, never mind. This has been on the cards for years. Crap chairman, crap managers, crap players and a ground that has the atmosphere of a mausoleum Even "Topps Tiles" has a third division ring about it Somebody let me know when we start signing skillful footballers instead of clueless athletes, and actually start trying to score goals Goodbye Holloway/Mandaric. Thanks for boring me senseless
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Hell. I gotta sign up to see it. Can you provide a transcript or something? Edit: I just and watched The Championship. Anybody else here a glutton for punishment or is it just me? It's me shaking my head for about 18 seconds in the pub after some funny ****er put another one bites the dust on the duke box. Happy Hippy, I don't want James Beattie, well I do, but it's hardly likely is it. He's in the my signature as he was suppose to save us. Silly me forgot he wasn't even playing today.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I was upset - and I thought I could have dealt with it better.I set myself up to see us relegated, and I have made light-hearted jibes about our situation in recent weeks. When that final whistle went today, the realisation kicked in that we were down, I couldn't control myself. I never expected myself to shed any tears - however, I'd been drinking as much beer possible on an empty stomach throughout the game. It just happened. I've got no shame about what I did. This club means a lot to me and the very existence of the club is under threat. People may say "new grounds, chance to rebuild" - it's not as easy as that. I don't know what's going to happen. I'm drunk and I'm pissed off. I may be more coherent at a later time, but nothing can stop me and many other Leicester fans feeling like shit right now. I also drank way too much last night, was blubbering at the pub. Anywhere else they might have thought that was strange, but I bet the owner there has seen it many times before. The missus made light heart of it. "You've never cried over me before."
Jordan Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 to see young fans on tv was heartbreaking... especially as see myself in them. Yes and no. It sucks to see our own fans upset, and especially young ones who get to see their team relegated to the third division when several generations of Leicester fans were fortunate enough not to witness the club at such depths. The average age of crowds at English football matches is going up, particularly at the "bigger" clubs. Ticket prices continue to rise. Fans of many clubs feel that the "atmosphere" at games is getting less enjoyable. The horrible financial consequences that can strike relegated (or simply struggling) clubs can make football tense and unattractive. However, there's still a large core of younger Leicester City fans who support their team with passion and loyalty despite all of the above because there's also a lot of enjoyable aspects about going to football matches and supporting a club. I see that whenever I see images of Leicester fans when I watch them play on TV. I see this on FoxesTalk when I read intelligent and passionate discussion (for the most part ) from students and twentysomethings. I was also fortunate enough to get to see this at the Walkers Stadium this season. Lots of other clubs just can't seem to attract fans like this. Leicester City are not just a football team; they're a social and cultural institution for its community of fans. That fans were crying at Stoke and elsewhere shows just how much many of us care deeply about the club. Yes, some fans won't be around next season, but the beautiful irony of football support is that those same fans who were upset to the point of tears today will be the first ones ready to see Leicester City play in whatever division they're in. The club's first team squad and administrative staff might not be in great hands to lead the way in both the near and distant future, but at least their support is. Leicester City Football Club ought to be thankful for this--especially today. That said, I hope that anyone who is heartbroken from Leicester's relegation can take a deep breath, regroup and put things in their proper perspective. The up-and-down scenes from today don't happen anywhere else but in sport, and in no sport do they occur with as much emotion quite like the way they happen in football. Appreciate this. Also, even the Premier League champions have to do it all over again the next season. Leicester might be in League One next season, but I guarantee that as soon as the ref blows the opening whistle in 2008/09's first game, the matches and the competition will not be any less important than they have ever been. Edit: Some may argue with my post and claim that football isn't worth all this emotion, but waxing romantic is much more fun than being reasonable!

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Like nuded up? I did too much of that during the week
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I did too much of that during the week Hence your flu. Tsk tsk.
RedOnRed Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 It's just as well that Mandaric seemingly has more money then sense, otherwise you'd most likely be in administration right now and getting relegated whilst having to sell most of your players that you don't consider to be good enough in the first place. That can be an absolute disaster, but at least Mandaric can underwrite this mess for you. The most important thing is that Mandaric doesn't pull the financial plug on you like the Norwegians did with Wimbledon leaving all of the above to happen when they arrived here at MK.
stez Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Absolutely devastated. I was pretty much inconsolable at the final whistle and cried a fair bit. Cut my hand open as well. Still not over it now. I'm actually not able to come to terms with it right now. I don't think the persistance with drinking is doing my any favours either. Gutted beyond belief; really struggling to find the words to express how I feel properly. I haven't even had people ringing me to take the piss, they understand how this is going to hit me.I feel sorry for Katy though, she was worse than I was at the final whistle bless her. I'd like to say thanks to Cobbo and Scoweh though for trying to cheer me up at the end, but also for stopping the random bloke from beating me up in the pub. Thanks very much. It's a bitter pill to swallow, and I'm feeling it just as much as the rest of you, but we'll be back. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself to prevent myself slipping into the depths of depression this evening. Oh, and for those who think I'm pathetic, sad, mentally weak or need to get a life because I cried, I can only tell you in the most sincere way possible to fuck right off. It's my way of dealing with it, and it's helping me to try to come to terms with it all. I guess I just must care more than you and that's why it's affecting me in this way? I don't know. 124 odd years of history ruined in 1 season by a bunch of overpaid mercenaries with no care for anything but themselves and their pay packets. Thanks a fucking bunch you complete bunch of bastards. and to stez for giving you one of the plasters he'd just gone of to buy
Guest Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I've managed to sleep on it, and it still hurts, but a part of me is feeling optimistic. Football, like life, is cyclical, we have ups and we have downs. This is the lowest point in my time as a City fan. We will start to see things get better. I don't believe they will get worse. Onwards and upwards.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Hence your flu. Tsk tsk. Warrnambool coldest place in the world. I honestly thought it would hurt but not to much being so far away, but no it hurts plenty
BobLee's autograph Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008  done well to find them smileys typing with that pencil in your mouth, or were they just random pokes?, you gimp.
lavrentis Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 When I got up this morning, I felt bad. And I couldn't help thinking, they have all let us down.
purpleronnie Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Well, what can I say?I waited after I got back off the coach untill my mum came to pick me up from the ground, during this time the Leicester City team coach pulled up. Players were getting, getting clapped by some fans who had waited behind... Then Holloway got off crying just put his hand up to acknowledge the crowd hung his head then walked off. Still hasnt sunken in yet that we've been relegated. We shall return. Leicester Till I Die. Some fans stayed behind and clapped the team?????????????????????? Only in england!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Who the hell claps a team off after a shocking season thats just fooked up it really is
Tilley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Sky Sports News, constant showing of Stoke's jubilation. I'm gutted. But we will be back. Leicester City will be back stronger than ever.
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Sky Sports News, constant showing of Stoke's jubilation.I'm gutted. But we will be back. Leicester City will be back stronger than ever. That's the attitude, that's the spirit!
Simi Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Some fans stayed behind and clapped the team??????????????????????Only in england! Unbelievable, if one of the players ran over their dog they'd probably say to them "unlucky". If this was Italy, they'd be lucky to have any windows left intact on their cars.
alwayslookonthebrightside Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Wednesdayite here in peace. Commiserations, it had to be one of us and fortunately it wasn't us. Having been in League 1 it can be a laugh for one season but it is a horrendous league to get out of. It will slowly dawn on you that you are in the Johnstones Paint Trophy, that the draw for FAC 1st round matters, that you are at least 2 seasons from the Premiership, that it could take seasons just to get back to the Championship. Then there are the grounds you have to visit, the fact that the national media will act as if you no longer exist and the constant attacks for "thinking you are a big club but you'rwe not now". It will stink that you will probably be paying the same amount of money to watch dire football. You will discover that now you are only associate members of the football league, not full members. All this will emerge over the summer. For one season it could be fun, any more and it is way beyond a joke. Sad to see you down, good luck in the years ahead.

If this was Italy, they'd be lucky to have any windows left intact on their cars. Maybe they clapped the players that they thought put in some effort over the season? It is odd, I'll give you that. With regards to Holloway, I think he's out of his depth but his passion cannot be questioned.
