Maybe they clapped the players that they thought put in some effort over the season? :dunno: It is odd, I'll give you that. With regards to Holloway, I think he's out of his depth but his passion cannot be questioned.

NONE of them put in effort from start to finish. Nobody.

Just a question or two.

If Holloway is sacked, I fully expect Dowie to take charge straight away.

When does everybody think he first few players will start going?

& when does the tranfer window open?

Transfer window 1st July.

I suppose that Dowie (after comparing records) would be a better appointment then Holloway, but he is a bit of a journeyman working his way around Championship clubs. Do you think he'd want to drop down a division and with the prospect of working with another difficult chairman (after Simon Jordan at Palace)?

Mandaric has always wanted Dowie.

I fully expect Dowie to be appointed after Holloways sacking or after he's left by 'mutual consent'.

RedOnRed. What's Paul Lambert like at Wycombe? You've played them this season. He seems to be going about his job quietly, has experience from his playing days of various different setups and coaching methods.

it's wierd. i got smashed friday night yet despite having a (very) quiet one last night, i seem to have a much bigger hangover now. my head in banging and yesterday is all i can think of. it's not gonna sink in till next years fixture list is out. you just can't get excited about league 1.

He does seem to be keeping things ticking over fairly quietly at Wycombe. Having said that they're in the play offs so he is doing OK. You never know they might get promoted.

Wednesdayite here in peace. Commiserations, it had to be one of us and fortunately it wasn't us. Having been in League 1 it can be a laugh for one season but it is a horrendous league to get out of. It will slowly dawn on you that you are in the Johnstones Paint Trophy, that the draw for FAC 1st round matters, that you are at least 2 seasons from the Premiership, that it could take seasons just to get back to the Championship. Then there are the grounds you have to visit, the fact that the national media will act as if you no longer exist and the constant attacks for "thinking you are a big club but you'rwe not now". It will stink that you will probably be paying the same amount of money to watch dire football. You will discover that now you are only associate members of the football league, not full members. All this will emerge over the summer. For one season it could be fun, any more and it is way beyond a joke. Sad to see you down, good luck in the years ahead.

Like what he said ^^^^^^^^^ pity he didn't use paragraphs to make it easier to read :)

You now have to re-group. Next season will separate the true fans from the clingons. Lets hope there are more of the former than the latter cos you're gonna need 'em.

It's very lonely done there!

Still very very gutted, but i really do feel we can be stronger than ever, it will be difficult to see us in league one but we deserve to be there, so lets get our act together, lets build a stronger relationship with the club and lets be there for the club more than ever.

We are all devastated but we can not dessert the club now!! It needs us more than ever, reading some of your comments on here have certainly gave me hope for the future, we do have some very decent fans here who are honest and are a credit to this football club, i am prouder than ever to be a leicester fan!! (in a strange way)

We all knew this was coming but still hurts all the same. Not getting the right results in the last 2 home games did us. You boys who go to all the home games must have a theory on why we choked it so much at home against "smaller clubs" - was it too much pressure from the fans, grumbling too early on the games instead of unending support (ala Portsmouth fans), or something from a higher plane... ooooo.... bad karma on the club re Martin Allen's sacking?

Keith Weller (my fav all time player) , Jimmy Bloomfield with his skilful attacking 70's team and Jock Wallace with all this passion and grit, and other departed City greats will be turning in their graves.

My eldest son grew up with the MON era. Says he is switching to his second team, Spurs - I'll bribe him to stick with the City but at moment can't think of a game to take him to next year as a "treat"!

I think biggest credit from shittest season ever has to go to all you real fans who stuck through it and went to all the away games - I'd buy you all a drink if I was MM.

I'm wondering if he's the man to come in and do a job for us. I'm under no illusions that really, if we want success, we need a manager who will come here and use as a stepping stone to better things taking us as far as they can before moving to a bigger club.

We cannot afford to have another manager a la Holloway or Dowie for whom this will be the big time for them and are therefore unable to take us higher.

Lambert is a name a few of us have been discussing. He's played under some good managers, got experience of European coaching methods from playing abroad and learning his trade at the lower levels on a tightish budget.

yeh but for you it's a step in the right direction, a stepping stone to bigger things (at least i'm sure that's what everyone assosiated with the club will be hoping/thinking)

for us it's an all time low. you get a bit of coverage in the championship - some nice grounds and big teams. but in league 1 you just step out of everyone's radar. the prem is no longer one big step away but realistically 5, 6 years away at best

Maybe I should ask this when we see who comes & goes in the summer, ie Players & Managers.

But,

Realistically, where do we expect Leicester to be next season.

I think, Play-Offs.

Why can't we expect automatic. MM will splash the cash for the right personnel knowing every season out of the prem is financial ruin.

After waking up this morning it actually feels worse. I just want pre-season and then the season itself now. It's going to be shit for 2-3 months realising we're going to be playing in League One next season.

When the season comes I'll be alright and I think we'll all be up for trying to get this team where we want (not deserve!) to be. But until it starts I'm going to continue to be depressed.

I've just heard on 5live that MM is considering his own future too. Well we knew he would be transient and all those tears on SSN last night, as someone else said, had more to do with him making a bad business decision and not getting a quick turnaround/profit on his investment. He'll also look a complete prat amongst his peers.

I've seen LCFC relegated many times over the years but all of them added together don't hurt as much as this one. I and other fans are feeling REAL hurt

My news blackout failed miserably, despite being in the company of non Leicester fans, but it was about 4 o'clock before I knew it was all over.

I was more upset about it than I thought I would be - I'd thought the writing was on the wall after the Sheffield Wednesday game and had got my head around going down already, but I still got that sick feeling in my stomach when the news was confirmed. Everyone was very nice and sympathetic to me though, although it's one of those where people being kind to you actually makes you feel worse.

I was in the company of a QPR fan so he was particularly understanding, having seen his team relegated with Holloway at the helm, and of course, bouncing back under his stewardship as well

We're not down because of what happened today, it's been in the post for the last few seasons.

Fresh start next season with a new manager and very few of the current squad.

Simon

Since relegation from the Premier in 2004, the life and soul including passion has been sucked out of this club like a weed.

Players have come and gone in droves, and those that remain HAVE the ability, but no willingness to apply it. My blame lies

with people like Ollie and NOT MILAN - the man who saved our club.

4th May was the worst day in our clubs' history, but today, although I'm still down, I know THIS is the day our club will be

re-born, we need to destroy the root of this 'weed' or illness killing this club and bring in a new manager with drive and

possibly (and I'm sorry to say it) a few players who are willing to provide fight and determination to our club in the battles

on the field.

WE REBUILD TODAY and eventually we will progress and be proud of our club once more.

Ok, I've had time to reflect on this. I can't help feeling that this all started 12 months ago when we didn't take on Nigel Worthington as manager. I don't think we'd have been close to this situation.

As for the future, we're in the sh.., I'm in 2 minds with Holloway, 1, sack him or 2, you got us into this mess now get us out of it... that also stands for Mandaric, he better not walk away from this either. 4 managers in a season, hardly great management is it.

Anyway people, we're in for some horrific football next season, but can we stick to one manager for a whole season... just once, lets see how it goes, it's worked for f***st, he's had 2 years now (?) and they're up. Makes sense. If we get rid of our lunatic of a manager I just hope we can attract someone decent, I think Billy Davies...

Any letters of support will be welcome as tomorrow I will be entering an office full of f***st fans. I think I may arm myself with a sorn off/axe/cattle prod.

One of our lot just put this in one of our forums...

"I'm looking forward to next season so much. MK Dons will fare well and i hope i do, i put £200 bet on three weeks ago @ 25/1 Dons finishing higher than Leicester City next season."

But 3 weeks ago we had just beaten Barnsley and looked likely to stay up. Your mate is either lying or a twat.
