Guest Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Green-eyed waffle Oh get over yourself, you mis-informed numpty. Like anyone gives a stuff about Brizzle.
ronnup Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 i'm quite excited about this new season now, all these new grounds, standing areas, we'll be the best team in the league. come on!
Master Fox Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Franchise FC - the team that isn't a real football team and was set up in Milton Keynes.Anyone see Soccer AM this Saturday? I'll happily guide you round the sites of Bletchley. It's such a wonderful place. I live not far from the Moo Dome, or whatever it's called. Northampton away should be a good one too.
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 can't wait for the away days this year! some of the best away matches I have been to have been at smaller, terraced grounds. the atmosphere is alot better with everyone standing & singing & you get that feeling that this is what football is all about. I'd much prefer to be watching us play from right on top of the pitch than from a vantage point where you need binoculars like St James' Park/Emirates etc Its a shame Colchester are leaving Layer Road though. I'd forgotten about that but really enjoyed the trip there last year. Also I'm not sure whether Southend have terracing or not. It might just have been that everyone was standing last year & ignoring the seats, I can't really remember. I hope they stay down anyway as that was also a good day out at the seaside
Guest Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Also I'm not sure whether Southend have terracing or not. I'm afraid not.
Corky Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I'm afraid not. Still create a good atmosphere down there. I hope they don't go up, near to me and a good day out.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 These are the kind of venues hosting our club next season. I fear for home results when the away teams realise the Walkers Stadium has running water! With Bristol Rovers moving their next season we get to go to Whaddon Road twice!
chichestergas Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 With Bristol Rovers moving their next season we get to go to Whaddon Road twice! Guys, welcome to League 1! I cannot believe how naive some of you lot are reading these posts. The grounds arent as bad as you say, and the Cheltenhame stand that you show was knocked down about 3 years ago. EVERYONE will be out to beat you next year. Welcome to the fun!

I actually am really looking forward to a fresh challenge. Hopefully we will be winning more .....famous last words.

Hard to see there was much to knock down! most fans realise it will be tough and I daresay we will suffer more embarrasing results along the way.
londonfan Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 With Bristol Rovers moving their next season we get to go to Whaddon Road twice! well be dissapointed - its now a 1,000 seater stand as you would have seen had you read page 5 of this thread - do research before slagging off other teams.

StroudFox Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I think it is quite cool that lots of other fans are coming onto the site. Hopefully the other League 1 fans will be nicer than some of the other ones that have been on here.

Sums them all up when you know that fat lump Gaunt is a fan of theirs. Probably likely to get "real" fans who support clubs who really are never going to achieve anything major and are therefore more likely to engage in friendly debate.

Thanks for the welcome Chichester. I don't think anyone, well most of us anyway, is that naive about this division. In fact, that's what scared the shit out of us for most of last year. We could see this coming and really didn't fancy scrapping it out with a division of underdogs. The teams that have come to Filbert Way over the last few years that we've expected to beat have often walked off with the points (Blackpool, Burnley, Colchester to name but three). I think the thought of winning a few games is keeping most of us going. A bit like Leeds, we were in Europe just 8 years ago and now we realise that we won't get much lower. If Rovers ever drop to the Conference or lower it'd be a similar one for you lot.
