BrockwellFox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 to my mind it sounds like they're going to stick with him, as Aldridge has already some out and said he's arranged a meeting to discuss the future with Ollie and the team, there would be no point discussing the future with Holloway if they were going to get rid of him.. most likely the meeting on monday is the meeting Aldridge talked about on the OS personally i reckon rebuilding a team to challenge for promotion back to the championship is a whole different prospect from bringing people in to firefight and try and keep us up when we've been flagging for a long time. we've been in steady decline for a few years now and we've finally reached the point where a sticking plaster won't help and major surgery is needed..
CupidStunt Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 If Ollie is to stay,it will be down to aldrige changing madaric mind imo gut instinct,is ollie wil be here for next season, for the first 3 games anyhow
Phlashman Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 In the interview Ollie said he was meeting Milan with Gary Penrice. Seem odd for Milan to invite the chief scout to a 'You're sacked' meeting. I think Ollie's staying.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Rambling nonsense. He clearly hasn't got a clue what went wrong last season or what needs fixing. Milan: get rid of this imbelice on Monday please. How ironic...
Master Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 CheerioCheerio Cheerio Cheerio Cheerio Cheerio!!!! Raj me old mucker, your sig sucks.
Raj Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Raj me old mucker, your sig sucks. Thats the first time ive put something in my sig apart from"I HAVE NO SIGNATURE" and you of all people hammer it! Can you do me one of your witty sig/avatar things please????
Corky Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Thats the first time ive put something in my sig apart from"I HAVE NO SIGNATURE" and you of all people hammer it! Can you do me one of your witty sig/avatar things please???? Sorry but it looks like something Howard Wilkinson would say. And I have no wit so that rules me out
Ashley Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I actually do hope Holloway stays. Another Manager is all we need.
Corky Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I actually do hope Holloway stays. Another Manager is all we need. Dave Bassett is the answer
Master Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Thats the first time ive put something in my sig apart from"I HAVE NO SIGNATURE" and you of all people hammer it! Can you do me one of your witty sig/avatar things please???? yes, but you have to use it.
Raj Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 yes, but you have to use it. Only if its not sexual or offensive in any way!!!!
Corky Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Definetely not. I will never forgive him for beating us in the Cup final when he was at Norwich
mancunianfox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I club doesn't just need stability. It needs stability under a good manager and keeping Holloway won't achieve that. I would rather change manager every three games than keep Holloway for another two seasons just because we don't want to change the manager despite how bad a job he may happen to be doing/have done.
Master Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Only if its not sexual or offensive in any way!!!! Well that pretty much rules that out then....
ibbosuk Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 If he was going to get rid of him, wouldn't he have done it by now, why wait until Monday. Unless it's mutual consent, but if that is the case, then what a waste of time the last week has been. IMO it must be a face to face mutual agreement to parting, and "Its not worked out for him" twaddle you always get when someone has failed.
Eastern Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I actually do hope Holloway stays. Another Manager is all we need. Why oh why did we ever get rid of Peter Taylor? The fewer managers the better, who cares if they know what they're doing or not?
JonB Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Ah, the reliable old 'never told a lie in my life' Holloway. He didn't leave Plymouth when they were 4th in the league, they were 6th. They only moved up to 4th after he had gone.
lookwhaticando Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 He sounds completely out of it in that interview. Reminds me of a young Rob Kelly who was being interviewed after his defeat to Plymouth... sounded pathetic, sounded like a dead man walking. His tone suggests he's already got both feet out the door, and just needs a little encouragement (money) to get him off the doorstep.
Father Ted Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 We are talking about a bald scarecrow from Bristol. I agree, I love some of the names that have been coming out for 'worzel'! Ratboy is quite funny. All I can say is OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT!
Scow Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 He sounds completely out of it in that interview. Reminds me of a young Rob Kelly who was being interviewed after his defeat to Plymouth... sounded pathetic, sounded like a dead man walking. His tone suggests he's already got both feet out the door, and just needs a little encouragement (money) to get him off the doorstep. I must admit that I was one person who wanted him to stay, irrespective of us staying up or not. After hearing that interview, along with the one he gave after the Stoke game, he seems completely deflated. I don't think Holloway is a bad manager, but I thought he may have bit off more than he could chew with this job. He's been used to having little or no resources in his previous jobs and he's thrived on that. Under us, he had the financial backing to go out there and choose who he wanted. He's not brought in partcularly bad players, but he's been unable to produce any consistency with them due to various reasons discussed on here. I'm at a stage now where I'm not bothered if he goes - it may benefit us having someone new come in and bring in a positive attitude instead of this 'deeply depressed and feel sorry for himself' approach. Let's have someone who has enjoyed success in their previous jobs. Dave Penney, hint hint.
BigGibbo Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I would imagine that you are spot on with that. Perhaps Milan will be talking to his preferred successor over the weekend, a statement will be released sometime on monday and a new manager unveiled that evening? I thinks thats very optimistic!
