Mark Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Problem now is now we are League 1, I don't think Mandaric has the funds to pay Holloway off, he's already done it once last season with Allen. If we'd stayed up Holloway would have been out already but there is no money coming in to allow this and build a half decent squad for next season. Although saying that, £1.5 million on Steve Howard is in itself is unforgiveable so he may be set to lose much more if he continues to show faith and stick by him.

I get the feeling this could play a big part on whether he sacks him or not.........................
SamL Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I was actually looking forward to an announcement today, shame really. Good to see Clapham has ended his spell with us. No suprise that Alnwick has gone back but it's a shame about Hendrie. Can't see the Hungarians being resigned either.

SamL Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Yeah, I wanted to hear today too.No idea of when we will actually hear Milan has said he won't be making any rush decisions so probably not for a few weeks. Although, I'd rather him get it over and done with so we can start planning our escape from this division. The more time a potential new manager is given, the better in my opinion.

I think ideally it needs to be sorted this week. I was hopeing it would be today however.
SamL Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I think ideally it needs to be sorted this week. I was hopeing it would be today however. It can't be good for the current players to have the current uncertainty about who will be manager next season.
Mark Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Milan has said he won't be making any rush decisions so probably not for a few weeks. If Milan waits till after May 31st before unleashing the news he's staying, my ST's getting sold, I'm not being fooled anymore.
Jonezy Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I can't stand this waiting game..... Didn't MM take a long time before appointing Ollie, and that worked a treat didn't it. MM, step up and make a decision, so we know whats coming. I can't believe, that in the club's most critical hour, our owner has been gone for a week. If we stay with Ollie, fine, and lets move on. If we are going to get another manager, get him in fast, so he has a chance to have a look at the squad before pre-season starts. I really can not deal with this waiting game...... We need some bloody hope, not this silent treatment mister chairman.
Ultra Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I can't stand this waiting game..... Didn't MM take a long time before appointing Ollie, and that worked a treat didn't it. Indeed - it took FOUR WEEKS between Megson leaving and his successor being unveiled. Mandaric's indecision will cost him dearly. Very few season tickets will be renewed until he decides on his next move.

Very few season tickets will be renewed until he decides on his next move. I dont agree, like I posted earlier... I believe MM is deffering announcing his decision (which has already been made - Holloway stays) so that all those ST holders will renew before the 'early bird' deadline expires so as to get ST's cheap, then come June 1st he'll announce Ollie stays but it'll be too late for all those Ollie haters cos they'll have renewed already....
Ric Flair Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I dont agree, like I posted earlier... Yes, but I don't think many will renew until Mandaric makes a decision either way. So if he's doing this in hope of only a select few renewing, so that he can then bump up the prices and piss the fans off even more by announcing Ollie is staying, then he's going about it the right way but it's a crazy decision.

But that seems to sum up MM's tenureship.... So I wouldn't bet against it.
volpeazzurro Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Mention has been rightly made that MM would perhaps have to pay Ollie off which in itself might be of consideration for the delay. Surely you would like to think that someone with Mandarics supposed managerial nous would have had some kind of clause re this put in Ollies contract in the first place. In an era where players sign to say they will accept a pay cut if relegated, surely where you are being employed at a club where you should at least expect middle table obscurity or above, combined with a very lucky to get the job egotistical Ollie, such a clause would not have been difficult or unreasonable to expect. Lets face it, it was much harder to get us relegated that to stay up with what he had at his disposal compared with many of the teams above us! If he'd remotely thought that relegation was a possibility then he wasn't the man for the job in the first place and for such a chance to work with a 'bigger club' like ours, Im sure he'd have bit MM's hand off anyway despite such a clause. Perhaps MM isn't that good after all either? Either way, we shouldn't reward such abject failure with another chance to manage Leicester City.

thecannon Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Hopefully after todyas'announcement' if there is on,we can all either get used to another manager.BUT if Ollie does get the thumbs up to carry on,we should all support the decision and give him our upmost support. The last thing we need is to start slagging the manager off before the tears of the season finale have even dried out!!! If he's in-Lets give him some love! still want the cvnt out though! You are right. We should give Ollie all the support he needs if he is given the thumbs up. If we do start booing him at matches etc, there is no point at all, It will not achieve anything.

Agreed, I've already posted that if MM hasn't got a relegation = you get FA or next FA compensation clause then you have to start to doubt his business acumen particularly when it comes to the world of football - Hang on minute I do doubt it You are right. We should give Ollie all the support he needs if he is given the thumbs up. If we do start booing him at matches etc, there is no point at all, It will not achieve anything. I don't think it will be problem as many of them wont be there.
