Thracian Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I can't see him being kept to be honest. I hope Milan has someone lined up, because he needs to be given as much time to prepare as possible and the club needs to know what's going on, not being left as it is at the minute. Yes, and there's nearly a week been wasted already.
Tilley Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 If he was going to get rid of him, wouldn't he have done it by now, why wait until Monday. Unless it's mutual consent, but if that is the case, then what a waste of time the last week has been.
Tubes Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I think he'll want a mutual consent deal, that's why he's meeting with him. Good call.
Master Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Naah, he'd be a coward and send his dogs body Barry Hayles up there for him instead, who would somehow fail to successfully get a bread roll out of the basket and in to the bowl for Ian. Barry would be the type who’d head straight to the salad bar from the toilet after taking a sh*t and not wash his hands. He’s the type who would sneeze on the mix leaf lettuce. He’s the type of person who would drop pubic hair into the bowl of mayonnaise.
mancunianfox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Why? If I thought I could still do a job and I had a contract - I'd not walk away from the sack and a pay-off. Of course, but then football manager is hardly your average job that most of us ordinary folk are doing. Besides, he has proven that he can't do the job and it would be the decent thing for him to walk away. As you have pointed our though he won't do that (and in reality it would be a stupid thing to do) because he will get a big payoff if he gets axed by Mandaric as his agent had negotiated a long contract. I know that its just business and the way things work but it still makes me feel a bit sick knowing that Holloway will walk away with a big payoff after getting us relegated.

Dr The Singh Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Holloway is just waiting for a pay out, and Mandaric is in no hurry, it's not costing a thing keeping Ollie employed!!!
Ric Flair Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I can't see this meeting going very well, unless Holloway turns up looking like Harry Redknapp or Iain Dowie.
The People's Hero Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 It won't go very well, and just for the hell of it he should either turn up looking like Ronald McDonald or just send Elvis Hammond in his place. Or head off to America on holiday for a week with his family. That would be funny. Clearly he'd then become a target of the Serbian equivalent of the Mafia though, so perhaps not wise.
MC Prussian Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Still not quite sure what job pattern would suit Holloway best after being axed by Mandaric. Gardener? Undertaker? Politician? Kindergarten teacher? League One steward? Referee? Dictator/emperor (Napoleon-style)?

Anderson would be going wild about it in The Mercury.
maddog Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I hope Mandy will stick with him. Sacking Allen last season probably cost us relegation, don't make the same mistake again Mandy! Or perhaps Mandy is revealing he will stick with him and offer him £50m transfer kitty

demon_dog Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Is it today that the board are meeting to discuss all of our current issues? If so I would have thought that he might be told later on today. Seems odd to leave Ollie on tenterhooks all weekend if the decision has been made. Could it be that the people involved already know what going to happen, but will not release it to the press until Monday?
Eastern Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 full ollie interview Rambling nonsense. He clearly hasn't got a clue what went wrong last season or what needs fixing. Milan: get rid of this imbelice on Monday please.

Could it be that the people involved already know what going to happen, but will not release it to the press until Monday? I would imagine that you are spot on with that. Perhaps Milan will be talking to his preferred successor over the weekend, a statement will be released sometime on monday and a new manager unveiled that evening?

Perhaps Milan will be talking to his preferred successor over the weekend, a statement will be released sometime on monday and a new manager unveiled that evening? I would be suprised if that was the case but you never know with Mandaric, I think it may just be about Holloway.
step Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Maybe milan is waiting to see if he can get anyone better? If not better the devil you know? Anyone would be better than holloway
Phlashman Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Anyone would be better than holloway What even Peter Taylor? or Zombie Hilter?
LeeCovFox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I would be suprised if that was the case but you never know with Mandaric, I think it may just be about Holloway. Would he bother with a press conference for it do you think? The last press conference I remember for a manager sacking is for Craig Levein although I may be wrong on that. Doesn't seem to me as though its Mandaric's style though. Personally, I'd prefer a press conference because I think Mandaric, as well as Holloway, has a lot of explaining to do to the fans.
Kilworthfox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I would not be suprised either way if he went or stayed! If he stays it is stability and hopefully penrice can get some no-names in again who turn out to be great. If he goes lets hope it is a new dawn where stability and success are what we do rather than the last 5 years
LeeCovFox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I agree with Kilworth. I really cannot second guess Mandaric on this decision. Could go either way. If I had to stick my neck out I would say he is probably going, but either way it wouldn't be a suprise to me. Nothing at this club will ever suprise me again.
Scow Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I thought keeping us up WAS the main point of the job for Holloway this season. I thought it was the Play-Offs. We can still make them, right?
