It's not about my future, it's about Leicester." courtesy of bcc ceefax As you can see I probably have not got the hang of polls

He's just telling the truth, it's not about him but about whats best for the club. I can see him sucking up to Milan a little over the next few days.
Bryn Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Depends how cynical you are I guess. He always said the right things at Plymouth as well, and look what happened when he left. It's the right thing to say but only he knows if he really means it. I'm inclined to think it's a bit of both - I think he probably is genuinely upset for us that he ruined our season but at the same time is probably equally concerned that his career is going down the pan and thinks that if he says the right things, it will at least preserve some of his image.
lavrentis Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Disgagree, He's saying that to make him seem like a blue, he probably said the same at Plymouth and his future club. He is a Bristol Rovers fan. Are you rubbing it in that we got relegated Dave_The_Owl ?
Dave_The_Owl Posted 10 May 2008 Author Posted 10 May 2008 Are you rubbing it in that we got relegated Dave_The_Owl ? Certainly not! You only have to see my posts from the past to understand that! I was actually looking at the championship team news on teletext and decided to look and see if there were any news of players being released from those 3 teams relegated. Believe me or not but I actually went past Leicester and I forgot you were one of the three I then read the contents and thought you and our fellow fans may have some constructive comments on those comments. I must say I am quite impressed with the poll I managed to construct - never done one before. Hope to see you back in the championship next season mate. Good luck.
Raj Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 I think its called "saying the right things to make out you care, before you get the sack on Monday!" Something like that anyway!!
eaststandtom Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 ollie doesn't in fact support bristol rovers but he, of course, will always be associated with them. i am in two minds part of me doesn't want a manager with the sort of reckless abandon he has shown then another part doesn't want the club to have another new manager. the fact that he has stayed for almost a week now since the inevitable suggests milan is at least thinking of keeping him

Hopefully his appointment this time is better than messers Ollie and Allen!!
Corky Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 I don't think his passion can be called into question, but that doesn't cover up his failings. He's just trying to keep his job with all this talk, he knows deep down that Mandaric will pull the trigger. And he's a Bristol Rovers man, not Leicester.
wurmer Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 He's Bristol Rovers through and through, so absolutely NOT a True Blue.. His flipping dog is even named after them, and I can't remember a week in his stupid column where he didn't mention them.

Benji Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 He puts his heart where his head is, so to answer the poll while he's our manager he's a true blue, just like when he was manager of plymouth he was a plymouth fan and so on. You can't expect more than that from any manager.
Ultra Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 He is just a club employee (at least until Monday..). If he wasn't, he'd feel no emotional attachment to us whatsoever. That's the nature of modern football. The only club really in his heart are the gasheads, whom he's managed before, and may well have the chance to do so again.
Thracian Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 He's been full of bullshit and inconsistencies ever since he arrived.

He does care about the club now, but before he was here and after he's gone, there would have been/will be no real affection for our club. If there is any, it will be nowhere near as much as long-term Leicester supporters.
Fox You Forest Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 I think that's true. He does care about the club now, but before he was here and after he's gone, there would have been/will be no real affection for our club. If there is any, it will be nowhere near as much as long-term Leicester supporters. That could be said about every manager since MON to be fair. (with the exception of Micky Adams possibly)
Corky Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 That could be said about every manager since MON to be fair. (with the exception of Micky Adams possibly) It could be said about every manager or player who wasn't a boyhood fan of the club they manage/play for. Holloway will never be a supporter of our club, that's for sure.
Bert Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 He'll never be a supporter of our club no, but what i will say is that whilst he is here, he will always be comitted to us.

Holloway will never be a supporter of our club, that's for sure. Thats not true is it i could name a few. Mostly from the MON era. All went downhill after there as i said.
Ultra Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 He'll never be a supporter of our club no, but what i will say is that whilst he is here, he will always be committed to us. So he should be, given the money we pay him. Although even that couldn't be relied upon with certain recent managers..
Corky Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Thats not true is it i could name a few. Mostly from the MON era. All went downhill after there as i said. Yeah, I suppose people like Walshie, Muzzy, Gerry, Neil Lennon, Emile Heskey to name but a few, but they had great times here so will look back on the club with affection. I can't see Holloway doing the same when he leaves.
Dave_The_Owl Posted 10 May 2008 Author Posted 10 May 2008 With a little help Hmmmm, thought it was too good to be true Thankx mate
