Maybes Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Burnley Im sure tommeh will have something to say about that choice
LeeCovFox Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Clubs that have not changed division since I started following football (1993/1994): Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Darlington, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Rochdale, Tottenham Hotspur. Not many. Not sure that it makes them boring as there is more to it than that. Interesting though that only two of them clubs are non-Premier League. Everton have been pretty boring other than an FA Cup win in 1995. Spurs have managed a couple of League Cups, but thats not much so I guess they could be counted as being pretty boring. Same with Villa who managed League Cup wins in 1994 and 1996, plus an FA Cup final appearance in 2000. And Newcastle who have managed a couple of runners up finishes in each of the Premier League and FA Cup. But there always seems to be something going on up there. Of the two non-Premier League clubs, Rochdale have been in the basement division since 1974 and Darlington haven't moved since they were relegated from Division Three in 1992, after Brian Little's departure.
Nationwider Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Oldham are getting quite dull. Things went downhill ever since Ian Marshall left. Hmm, why does that ring a bell....?
LeeCovFox Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 A place always loses some of its character when the local tramp moves away.
Nationwider Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 A place always loses some of its character when the local tramp moves away. ...but the smell lingers on.
Nationwider Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Why do you think we had to leave Filbert Street? Bloody health and safety.
FilboFox Posted 15 May 2008 Posted 15 May 2008 Chelsea... can't stand them and they are REALLY boring to watch. No finesse at all... its just bludgeoning football and grinding out 1-0 wins. Then they just go around the world buying all the players they think are really good and they come here, ruin their careers and end up being forgotten as they win nothing with Chelsea... I'm not looking forward to the Champions League Final at all... had it been Man Utd vs Liverpool, THAT would have been a great final. Two massive rivals really having a go at one another and because both teams play good football they would have really put on a good show. Liverpool determined to get something from the season and Man Utd wanting to finish it off in style knowing that if they lost, it'd be disastrous as it's against Liverpool. Man Utd vs Chelsea on the other had will be a cagey affair with both teams sitting back not wanting to concede on the break as Chelsea know that they have to win because it could be their only chance in their careers to win the trophy and Man Utd will not want to lose the chance of the double to Chelsea of all teams who they know will be good on the break after having played them recently at the Bridge... boring boring boring. If you had to lose one of the top 4 teams in England, I'd pick Chelsea every time as they simply are the most boring and annoying... rant over.
The People's Hero Posted 15 May 2008 Posted 15 May 2008 Burnley have had their good times. I know they're your fairly archetypal one-nil merchants by reputation, but I don't think they're boring as such. I've always had Villa down as a fairly boring club to support. I find myself actually liking them now due to MON....
General Smuts Posted 15 May 2008 Posted 15 May 2008 Watford are without a doubt the most boring club i've seen all year. Including Colchester and Cardiff.
Koke Posted 15 May 2008 Posted 15 May 2008 Watford are without a doubt the most boring club i've seen all year. Including Colchester and Cardiff. They have John-Joe O'Toole, so they are alright. Probably the coolest name in the Football League.
