Matt Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Blackpool boss linked again with Leicester switch 09:29 May, 18, 2008 Simon Grayson's name is once more being mentioned as the Foxes decide on a new boss Ian Holloway remains in charge at the Walkers Stadium following relegation but chairman Milan Mandaric is thought to be in the process of agreeing terms with the former QPR and Plymouth boss to allow him to leave. That would push Grayson, a popular former Leicester player and well regarded following his work at Bloomfield Road, to the head of the queue to replace Holloway.
purpleronnie Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Money. Plus the fact Blackpool have pretty much got as far as they can, the potential that leicester have is greater.
Number 6 Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 can't see that happening yet, maybe if the teams were the other way round.
Matt Posted 18 May 2008 Author Posted 18 May 2008 Where is that from? http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagen...p?newsid=185207
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 can't see it. he's done a good job at blackpool though
Monk Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Hmmmmmm Well, I won't read anything into this right now but Grayson would be a very popular appointment and I think he could take this club places by playing the type of football we know and love. Will be interesting to see how this develops.
teblin Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Think it would be a good choice. Fans would like the appointment and has done well considering the resources he has at blackpool.
Shrenchel Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Money.Plus the fact Blackpool have pretty much got as far as they can, the potential that leicester have is greater. Haha...where have I heard that before?! As for money. If we have to pay off Ollie and are stuck with all these wages that despite the pay cut will probably still be pretty steep for league one, you really think we've got much more cash to splash around than Blackpool?!?!

Yes.
FilboFox Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 As for whether or not Grayson would come here... I'm not too sure, Blackpool are in the Championship but could well get relegated next year so there is a chance that he may come here to leave still on a high from Blackpool. Then again, getting out of this division is tough and he may think it's too big a task to save Leicester so may not come. I wouldn't mind Grayson if Holloway was sacked... he's certainly a better choice than many of the names being thrown around on here.
He's not bald Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagen...p?newsid=185207 Yeah it's also in the Sunday People as well so it's got to be true!
He's not bald Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 He may want to manage a club with four proper stands. And he might not like the sea or Tango!
Webbo Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 I don't want Ollie to be sacked but I think it's becoming inevitable. If we were to get a new manager then Grayson would be the ideal choice.
AoWW Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Not gonna have too many choices. Simon Grayson? How about this for slamming it home - we won't get him because Blackpool are a division higher than us. He'd be good but I'm not sure we'd get him. A surprisingly mild reaction, Burnham, given the slating I received when I suggested him before.
Daggers Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Amazing that a year ago I was saying how much it would be a bad appointment - so what the hell do I know?! Considering MM has now totally undermined Holloway with his last statement, I would welcome this move more than any other appointment. It's never going to happen though.
renards Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 I don't want Ollie to be sacked but I think it's becoming inevitable. If we were to get a new manager then Grayson would be the ideal choice. Can you explain why not? Without mentioning that old nutmeg 'stability' Draw a list of good and bad points, I got as far as a 'funny guy' in the good colomn, help me out.

renards Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Go see the other thread(s) where this has been covered to death I was responding to the comment 'I don't want to see Holloway sacked' this didn't need to be mentioned in a thread about Simon Grayson.
Webbo Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 Can you explain why not?Without mentioning that old nutmeg 'stability' Some people think sacking Holloway is a good idea, some don't it's been done to death now, there's no point explaining it again. I was responding to the comment 'I don't want to see Holloway sacked' this didn't need to be mentioned in a thread about Simon Grayson. Because if you say' Grayson would be a good appointment' people might assume that you'd prefer him to the current boss, not necessarily the case.
Bryn Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 A surprisingly mild reaction, Burnham, given the slating I received when I suggested him before. That wasn't a slating.... I meant that the fact that Blackpool are a division higher than us is a really graphic way of "slamming it home" just how far we've sunk. Apologies for the misunderstanding

I know its been done to death, but i'm still none the wiser, I was hoping that with you not sitting on the fence and stating that you want him to stay you may shed a bit of light as to why. You can't be sure that Grayson will suceed here, however he would do an honest job and unite the fans behind him, the club are also guaranteed to sell one more season ticket. He won't do any worse, our out going manager has failed.
