Ultra Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 Mentions motherwell on the bbc gossip aswell now. Presumably to replace Mark McGhee if he moves to Hearts. But McGhee would be better off staying where he is, unless he gets a crack at the Celtic job, which isn't likely to happen any time soon.
dandannieldanok Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 I'd be happy with Lambert, happier than if we stuck with Holloway.
smokey Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 link PLEASE NO!! Done Nothing in 2 years at Wycombe and thinks Scott Oakes is a good player, keep Ollie!
act smiley Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 What's the ex-Luton player got to with anything? As for Stefan Oakes, he's actually not bad at league two level. As for done nothing, a good cup run last year and making the playoffs this year isn't too bad a record, although you're right in that its not exceptional.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 Not keen. Would be a huge gamble and we might be better off with Holloway. Would prefer Gannon from Stockport for the youth policy.
Daggers Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 His record is reasonably shit. If he came it would probably signal a time for me to find something else to do on Saturdays.
CKB Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 Hmmmm Paul Lambert? i think this is just pure speculation myself, he leaves and gets linked with the job
Burnsy Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 Paul Lambert will be installed as Leicester citys next manager with old boy Steff oakes following him aswell. Mark my words

KirbyFox Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 Me either! Theres been rumours coming from chelsea that steve clarke is looking to take the step up to the number one man. maybe leicester could prize him away from the bigger clubs that will be in the market for managers. he can't be that bad being number two to the special one!!!!!
Tommy G Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 One of the bosses at my work is a Wycombe fan and says he is a shocking manager. He's followed them home and away this season. Glad to have got rid of him due to his defensive style of play. Bit of a Megson
Ric Flair Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 Megson would of kept us in the Championship I'd rather be relegated than have Megson still in charge, if Lambert is anything liem Megson then I hope to god that these rumours are false. I was under the impression Lambert was a bit of a pioneer for champagne football.

MikeyT Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 Megson would of kept us in the Championship You cant possibly know that whatsoever, unless you have a crystal ball that tells you the future!
Fox You Forest Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 You cant possibly know that whatsoever, unless you have a crystal ball that tells you the future! It must be based on the fact he kept Bolton up which is daft because there team is atleast ten times better than ours.
Mark Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 I'd rather be relegated than have Megson still in charge, if Lambert is anything liem Megson then I hope to god that these rumours are false. I was under the impression Lambert was a bit of a pioneer for champagne football. I could have guessed that, had a look at Wycombes goals for last night and it was a major turn off for me, in League 2 and with an Argentian midfielder. Any manager that can't get his team scoring on average at least 1.5 a game can fook right off now, we need change. Although 1 a game would be an improvement on last season. 15% win rate at Livingston doesn't bode well either.
Shrenchel Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 One of the bosses at my work is a Wycombe fan and says he is a shocking manager. He's followed them home and away this season. Glad to have got rid of him due to his defensive style of play.Bit of a Megson Yeah I did wonder how good his football would be after seeing they'd scored fook all goals this season for the position they're in. If his tactics are actually Megson I think I'd rather sit it out. I can feel it being another case of Leicester fans being so glad to see the back of the current manager they'll just take whatever the next joker thrown at them is though.
MikeyT Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 It must be based on the fact he kept Bolton up which is daft because there team is atleast ten times better than ours. Exactly mate! The have the likes of Diouf, Nolan and up until end of January, Nicolas Anelka! Just a smidgen better than we have!
teblin Posted 22 May 2008 Author Posted 22 May 2008 Exactly mate! The have the likes of Diouf, Nolan and up until end of January, Nicolas Anelka! Just a smidgen better than we have! Different level though, we had players in our squad capable of finishing higher than 3rd bottom. Mid table at least.

On paper our team was a far better Championship side than Bolton are a premier league side though. Can't really make a direct comparison.
