Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 Err you've just done that yourself just like you did last year - don't blame the fans for any pressure felt look in the mirror, no not the Daily one the one in your bathroom! Exactly! He's the one putting the pressure on himself with all this 'we must do it in 3 years' bollocks. Now he's already suggesting that we should be looking at 2 promotions in 2 years & then asking the fans to be patient. Well which is it? I think Mandy's lost the plot to be honest
davieG Posted 23 May 2008 Author Posted 23 May 2008 Premier dream "still on track" by Bill Anderson Milan Mandaric believes he can still achieve his target of taking Leicester City into the Premier League "in three years". That is despite relegation to League One and the club being further away than when he took over 15 months ago. The City chairman is looking for the club to bounce straight back to the Championship, and then use that momentum for a second successive promotion. It is a feat he feels should be within City's grasp once the summer rebuilding programme starts to bear fruit. Mandaric said: "This is a perfect opportunity for us to go into an era of transformation, to instil a winning mentality rather than the losing one we seem to have had over the last few seasons. "We have got two steps to make and we have to make the first one properly and quickly - one season to go up and then the next to go into the top flight. "I know I made that statement about three years, but I still could be on course if we get it right. "Yes, we have stumbled a little bit, but you look at why you stumble, learn from it, correct it and regroup with a squad of strong players hungry for success. The objective is clear. "This is not a time for sulking about what happened, I can't be pointing fingers, we just have to be strong and move forward. "The way I see it now is that this is a good time for us to build back up again from solid ground. At Portsmouth, it took me three years to find the right way. Now I have to do it in one year." For City to rise up from their lowest ebb will certainly need that "transformation", and for the losing mind-set to change. Mandaric said: "It was very damaging to the team last season. I saw some good players come in and play well for the first few games, then later they joined the crowd. "Success breeds success so we need those positive feelings for it to work, and I believe we can get it to work. "Relegation was difficult to take but we are putting it behind us and concentrating on how the club can go forward. "I hope the supporters don't put too much pressure on me time-wise because we have got to do it right. We all have to believe in ourselves and I am convinced that, if we do, then we will all get to where we want to be." Err you've just done that yourself just like you did last year - don't blame the fans for any pressure felt look in the mirror, no not the Daily one the one in your bathroom!
Daggers Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 This wouldn't have anything to do with pre-season season ticket sales, would it?
MikeyT Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 This wouldn't have anything to do with pre-season season ticket sales, would it? What have the ticket sales been like? I'm guessing rather poor?
davieG Posted 23 May 2008 Author Posted 23 May 2008 This wouldn't have anything to do with pre-season season ticket sales, would it? Nah that's this one Fans our 12th man - Milan by Andy Mann Chairman Milan Mandaric has insisted "fan power" will play a key role in Leicester City's League One promotion bid next season. Mandaric pointed to the promotion challenges of Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Swansea this year, who have been backed by the division's largest average home crowds. Swansea averaged 12,993 on the way to the League One title, Forest finished second with a City Ground average of 19,956 while Leeds, who are in Sunday's play-off final, averaged 25,720. Mandaric said: "Look at the teams that got promoted from League One last season - Nottingham Forest and Swansea City. They finished second and third as far as average attendances were concerned. "Leeds United topped the list - and they could yet still be promoted. That says a lot to me. It demonstrates fan power. attitude "We need to dust ourselves down and get on with the job in hand. The supporters have got a massive part to play and there is no doubt in my mind that they will be our 12th man next season - wherever we are playing." Mandaric was speaking after City sold 400 season tickets on Wednesday alone, describing sales as "tremendous under the circumstances". Mandaric said: "I read in the Mercury that a family have decided to purchase season tickets for the first time despite our relegation - that's exactly the sort of attitude that is going to help us to get out of this position we find ourselves in. "I went out for a meal in the city with my wife on Tuesday evening and the feedback I got from supporters was fantastic. "We were all devastated by relegation - but we have now picked ourselves up again and are ready to fight our way out of this situation. "I have never lost faith in our quest to get this club back where it belongs - and I know for a fact that the supporters will never lose their desire. "We have been really encouraged so far by the level of support we have received. Season-ticket sales have been in line with that of last season - which is tremendous considering the circumstances.'' Master Fox Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 I'd had a dream. It involved losing 3 nil away at Yeovil
Thracian Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 It's hard to say who talks the most crap, Mandaric or Anderson. He talks about fans power and at the same time says he's putting season ticket prices up. If you listen long enough he talks himself round in circles, just like Holloway.
davieG Posted 23 May 2008 Author Posted 23 May 2008 I'd had a dream. It involved losing 3 nil away at Yeovil I thought your dreams were all in the Chebs topic
Master Fox Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 I thought your dreams were all in the Chebs topic I dream about you too, you saucy bugger.... I've seen what you've been up to, you little cheeky....
davieG Posted 23 May 2008 Author Posted 23 May 2008 I dream about you too, you saucy bugger.... I've seen what you've been up to, you little cheeky.... I know I'm seeing boobs everywhere - re your signature ..........
Ultra Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 What have the ticket sales been like?I'm guessing rather poor? May just have crept into four figures..
Master Fox Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 I know I'm seeing boobs everywhere - re your signature .......... Boobs? I see no boobs. You're boobs crazed
Thracian Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 May just have crept into four figures.. Any decimal points in those four figures?
coale39 Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 Maybe when we get relegated to league 2, he will say its still possible. There must be a loophole somewhere...
Phlashman Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 We're just taking the scenic route to the Premiership! If we can build up a head of steam we could be the next Bristol City!
Daggers Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 It's hard to say who talks the most crap, Mandaric or Anderson. Why isn't Bason in that list - he spouts just as much crap, but he actually believes it. That, for me, makes him the worst - at least the other two are just playing a game.
Thracian Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 We're just taking the scenic route to the Premiership! If we can build up a head of steam we could be the next Bristol City! It's that word "could" that bothers me. Finance houses use it all the time when they're championing investments they want to sell me. "Could head skywards...." "Could buck the downward trend...." The only "will" they ever use is when they're trying to get me to write one! Which brings me back to Leicester City I suppose. Or the word "obituary"!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 "Still on track"? I'm so relieved. And there I was thinking everything had gone tits up. KTF! etc
Corky Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 It is possible you know. I was Southend on Football Manager, who had won successive promotions, and I managed, in my first season, to make it three and reach the Premiership, so it can be done. Only difference is I was tactically aware and the players gave 110% every match and played as a team. Keep the Faith

Tilley Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 Premier League?? Lets get back in the Championship first, jesus. But on a brighter note, I've just gone & brought my season ticket & there was a fair few people down there getting them.
