SamL Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 I'll leave you too that. Would love to have Peterborough before Oct so that it's easy to get to for me, doubt that I'll be able to get hold of tickets though. Peterborough could allocate up to 4,000 terrace tickets and extra seats (approximately) so you should be OK. I don't mind where it is, but I'd just like an away match first up.
Craig Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 Home 1st.Away week after. Shite Home game when im at Reading. Pleeeeeeeease. That weekend has an ironic twist of Leeds away written all over it.
DB11 Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 I want the first game to be away (purely because that means the last game of the season will be at home! ) Thought the first game changed year on year - last year was home first game away last game so this year should be away first game to leave home last game of season? I could be very wrong but thinking back, thats the way I remember it No it's random. The only thing that is for definite is if you have Boxing Day at home, New Years Day game is away and vice versa. Also, if the first game of the season is at home the last is away and, again, vice versa.
Uncle Albert Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 Shitty home game first please. And a shit home Carling Cup game. I will be away for these.
crisp monster Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 June 16th eh! also 1st day of the fishing season think i'm more excited about that
syston_fox Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 I want the first game to be away (purely because that means the last game of the season will be at home! ) Not always. The other season we started away at Sheff Utd and finished away at Southampton!
Matt Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Its random so no-one can really predict who we'll play when but who does everyone want on August 9th 2008 @ 3pm? I'm going MK Dons away - hope we hammer them. Leeds home - Boxing Day. ( Just thought i'd throw boxing day in aswell) Leyton Orient away - Last game of the season
TheBlinding Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Home 1st.Away week after. Shite Home game when im at Reading. Pleeeeeeeease. Swindon away would be nice
Who ate all the pies? Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 New fixtures and potentially a new manager on the same day...I'm started to feel excited again!
Matt Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 New fixtures and potentially a new manager on the same day...I'm started to feel excited again! If by excited you mean scared and nervous, yes. I'm excited can't wait for the fixtures and season to start but then I think - Shite we've got to rely on Milan to make yet another inept managerial appointment. Hopefully i'm proved wrong but in Milan Mandaric's football owning career he has appointed one good manager - Harry Redknapp, and he even fooked that one up and Harry left, until Milan begged him back.
Who ate all the pies? Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Don't get me wrong I'm 'packing my pants' but I'm just looking forward to winning football matches again. Who ever Milan picks will most likely be the wrong choice but as long as we all know that none of us will be too frustrated. We are Leicester fans, resigned to a life of underachievement. We might as well get excitement where we can. Is anyone starting a book on how long the new manager will last?

We might as well get excitement where we can. Is anyone starting a book on how long the new manager will last? When will people learn? Fair enough on paper, and in theory we should win some matches, however isn't this what we said when we got relegated from the Prem? And it was year after year of scraping out of relegation till it finally bit us on the arse. Because we're Leicester City what gives us the right to turn up in League One and win football matches? If we play like we did last season, If our players don't try, If our players don't turn up, If we think "Ah its only Swindon/Yeovil/Leyton Orient e.t.c, we should roll these over a piece of piss" we won't win. Simple.
Simi Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 After reading Bert's thread on how the fixtures are produced, do you think it'd make more sense for us to have our first game home or away? Personally, I'd say away from home. The pressure won't be as high and we can hopefully relax and get a positive result. If we were at home, I reckon the fan pressure would overwelm a lot of the players and we would famously manage to bottle it.
Who ate all the pies? Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I have learnt, but being a pessimist is going to get us no where. We need to have some optimism otherwise what's the point? I'll plump for Yeovil at home.
He's not bald Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Orient away No.... home to Carlisle...you heard it here first!
turkish14 Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 i want carlisle away for 1st game reasons............. .get the game/travel out of the way on what will hopefully be a warm summers day instead of mid winter .hopefully a capacity away crowd instead of a midweek game .hopefully the players will be raring to go,and in the process beat what i consider to be promo rivals
StroudFox Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Cheltenham , Swindon or Bristol Rovers away would suit me down to the ground!
lildave3 Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Swindon away, go on fixtures computer, you know it makes sense.
SussexFox Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 personally Brighton away would be really good - not being funny but no fixture other than perhaps Leeds is very exciting this year and I agree with the guy who said we shouldn't expect to turn up and win this season i'm a bit worried that every team who comes to the Walkers will see it as their cup final
syston_fox Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Home game to start with and Huddersfield or Leeds away on the second sat of the season please because I've gotta be up that neck of the woods that night anyway. If we're down south that week then I could be fooked!
