Aye, something like that. :giggle:

I can't wait, I hope we get an away game first up.

Thought the first game changed year on year - last year was home first game away last game so this year should be away first game to leave home last game of season? I could be very wrong but thinking back, thats the way I remember it :dunno:

Nope, it doesn't alternate.

Looking forward to them now. I'd personally like an away match first.

Hopefully I miss a home game when I go to Leeds as well... :ermm:

I'd like a home game.

I'd like three points.

And I'd like the sort of statement from the team that says the miserable approach of the last four seasons is over once and for all.

Especially now my season ticket's sorted.

Goddamit! I never realised it was so early.

Bloomin summer holidays!

Now in another thread you say he/it doesn't exist - in this thread you damn him/it. Interesting.

Here is a list of our first games over the past few years:-

03/04 - Southampton Home (Drew 2-2)

04/05 - West Ham Home (Drew 0-0)

05/06 - Sheffield United Away (Lost 4-1)

06/07 - Luton Away (Lost 2-0)

07/08 - Blackpool Home (Lost 1-0)

It definitely doesn't alternate. We haven't won our first game since our promotion season which could be an aspect to our downfall. I wonder if it's a coincidence that the seasons when we've lost/drawn our first game we haven't done very well. Shows the importance of winning the first game I suppose.

What a poor record.

We were robbed at the Southampton game and wasn't the West Ham game where Dion got sent off  And Rufus Brevett.

For me, the first game is vital.

How many times in recent years have we heard the phrase "Let's kick-start our season"

The sooner the better. The first game, lets get the ball rolling from day one.

This is a bit of a bold statement, but I think the first game will set the tone for the rest of the season.

The Johnstones Paint Trophy draw for the first round 07/08 was drawn live on Soccer AM August 11th so expect something similar next season.

Can't wait for the season to start - mates think I'm mad - maybe I'm just gagging for a chicken balti pie!!!

For me a dream start would be peterborough away!!! Done aa route finder to check mileage, 37 miles - I could walk!!!

I'll leave you too that. Would love to have Peterborough before Oct so that it's easy to get to for me, doubt that I'll be able to get hold of tickets though.
