I feel sorry for Luton fans they are a good little club and it's the fans that will be punished it's a real shame but I can't see them surviving this to be honest even if a takeover goes through they will have pretty much lost there football league status before a ball is kicked

I know punishments have to be given out, but give them to the people responsible, not the players and the fans who can do nothing about who is in control of the club or what they do. I feel so, so sorry for those supporters.

TrickyTrev Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 The future of the club looks VERY bleak. . They came 10th in the Championship 2 seasons ago, it now looks like they are going to be playing conference football sometime soon. Surely to become the biggest Town without a league club?

Those in charge of a club that enters into administration or makes illegal payments etc should be banned for life from any administrative position at any level of football. The only constant at a football club is it's fans so they are the ones being punished.

If they are signing better players they couldn't otherwise sign without illegal payments then they are gaining an unfair advantage. Unfortunately there is no alternative.
TrickyTrev Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Dudley is bigger. Well looking at the statistics there is nothing in it, both just under the 200,000 mark. However if you measure Luton by its urban area i.e include Dunstable and Houghton Regis which it has grown in to then it is considerably bigger. 230,000 to 195,000. It will be terrible for the town not to have a league club, as you can imagine there isn't much to do as it is.
