Darkzzz_ Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 If it is, let's hope it got fixed since last time we used it No it has not been repaired, Aldridge left his tool kit at home!! On a serious note, i dont think we should have another press conference for the incoming manager, here is a example: Reporter: So Paul Why Leicester? Paul Ince: (what they all say) Well it is a huge club, huge fan base, a challenge... Blah Blah Blah!! Reporter: So Milan how long will this one last? Milan: Well i called it last time with Mr Megson, i will give paul 4 days, if he does not get us up to the premiership in 4 days he is out!! I am embarrassed by the press conferences now, they are all full of broken promises!! Oh i Love this club.....
Fox You Forest Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 If you read the quotes, I said that with Mandaric in charge you have little hope of reaching the Premiership in five years.I'm going to change my mind on what I said earlier, and agree that you probably are a fairly big club. In terms of fanbase and infrastructure. Im just glad of a little news as there is nothing on tv and im watching You Me And Dupree for the 4th time.

In terms of fanbase and infrastructure. Tbh I believe that if Mandaric appointed the right man and just let him be, aslong as the manager did the job well enough we could get to the Prem. He does give them money to spend etc. It's just atm we have the knack of turning a good manager into a complete shambles. Oh and thanks for saying that we are probably a fairly big club
iancognito Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 If Ince wants to go then Winkelman will let him, he has never held anyone back at the club; McLeod, Platt, Allen are a few examples. But I cannot see him wanting to take it; that's no disrespect to you as a club but why leave for a club in the same division when you can spend another year here and add 'loyalty' to the personal qualities section on your CV? Plus there's the Mandaric problem with job security - here he is a God, Holloway was the same at Plymouth and you guys didn't seem to like him after a bad start, and he was given barely any time before Mandaric axed him.If you are given permission to speak to him you should let him name his price because he truly is the brightest young manager in England. We've played brilliant football, won every competition we've had a realistic chance of winning (including beating three teams from higher leagues on the way to the JP Trophy). Champions, day out at Wembley (winning), we could not have asked for anything more. If he does come to you however, that's three jobs in three years, and can't see him staying put until he gets to the very top. He wants to retire with Inter. Steve Bruce club-hopped until he got 'settled' and now everyone's talking about him in positive terms again. In terms of job security, it's widely accepted that in modern day football that if you don't make progress with a side you get sacked. Holloway took us sideways, stuttered a bit, then backwards. He spent money on workshy carthorses and was tactically inept at crucial times in the game and the season. had we gone up even two or three places, he'd have kept his job and been allowed the summer to complete his rebuild. We liked him until it was obvious that he was a man about to get us relegated to the third division for the first time in our existence, that can make you go off a bloke just a bit. I've said for a while that Ince is the best young manager in Britain but I'd still prefer a safer option like Davies or Lambert because IF we're successful this year with Ince, there's no chance of keeping him if anyone in the Prem comes asking. What on earth does your owner have to do with you being a big club? I think his point is that Mandaric might be a loony but that doesn't mean we aren't a big club. Bush is a loony and is the leader of a large country. It's an irrelevant point but I thought I'd try & make sense of it for you
lavrentis Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 I think that we are a fairly big club because of our fanbase is correct because If we were in the Premiership I have confidence we would do what Derby did and sell out every game.
maddog Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 If we do get Ince in i hope we can get him quickly. Hughes has gone to Man City quick enough. Time is not on our side we need a new man to assess the squad bring in players, sell players, get his tactics emprinted on the squad etc. That takes a lot of time. We don't want the new man to rush in, make panic signings and end up just like last season. We need a slow, relaxed process, long enough for the players to get to know the manager and for him to know them.
fox123 Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 I think this is a cheeky ploy by Milan to get the fans back on his side!

Guest Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 I think that we are a fairly big club because of our fanbase is correct because If we were in the Premiership I have confidence we would do what Derby did and sell out every game. Or we could end up losing almost every single game.

Guest shearfox Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Ince should take the job (thats if MK dons allow us to speak to him) if he is ambitious and willing to take risks. Leicester is the perfect opportunity to farther his managerial status, he will get good backing from the chairman and if he is as good as everyone believes him to be then he should have us challenging for automatic promotion next season.
fox123 Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 I'd take the job, pure on the fact the round-a-bouts in Milton Keynes are fooking rediculous and send sat nav's crazy, anyone got a ciggy
Darkzzz_ Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Ince should take the job (thats if MK dons allow us to speak to him) if he is ambitious and willing to take risks. Leicester is the perfect opportunity to RUIN his managerial status, he will get good backing from the chairman and if he is as good as everyone believes then he will be at the job centre within a few weeks.

Tevez Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Its the 4th of June man, the players are still on there holidays. We've only got 4 minutes to save the world mate.
Uncle Albert Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 We've only got 4 minutes to save the world mate. Seems the case with some people. I hate that song aswell.
Phlashman Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 I doubt Milan would of made this approach unless he had a inkling that we've got a chance of getting him. Sure the rules say you've got to ask permission first, but that wouldn't apply to Ince's agent talking to say Aldridge who he might be talking to about someone else he represents (like a player).
lildave3 Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 We've only got 4 minutes to save the world mate. I prefer 4 minute warning by Mark Owen. Well I don't but I do remember it.
Unabomber Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Phlashman love your sig, Milan is looking at Allen and Megson as if to say "Oh dear god I have fooked up", whereas with Holloway it seems to be a totally different story.
Darkzzz_ Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 The Martin Allen Pic on his sig looks as though he is being interregated!! Has Milan resorted to this "Guantanamo Bay" type ruthless interview tactics!! That is why he has not got it right, go easy Milan... No threats of yours and Aldridge's pissing sessions if they dont give you want you want!!

Legend_in_blue Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 The whole situation baffles me tbh. On the one hand you've got MM stating that he has a very encouraging set of managers from which to choose out of a list of 20 or so and then you've got MM asking permission to talk to Ince. Does this mean MM has received an application from Ince for the job? And if he hasn't, since MM states he has an encouraging set of managers from which to choose, why bother approaching him? If he hasn't applied we haven't got a chance of getting him surely. This whole situation needs sorting out quick - we are losing precious preparation time. Sort it quick.
Fox You Forest Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Graeme Le Saux for manager. I suppose its an improvement on Nigel Worthington.
