Bryn Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Footballer Held After Kids Die In Crash Updated:13:58, Saturday June 07, 2008 A 25-year-old professional footballer has been arrested after a crash on the M6 in which two children died this morning, Sky News sources say. The children, both boys and aged eight and 10, were killed after the smash involving two cars shortly before 5.45am. The man arrested was driving a black Range Rover and was not hurt in the crash. He is being held on suspicious of causing death by dangerous driving. The crash happened on the motorway's southbound carriageway near junction 16 in Staffordshire. The dead children had been travelling in a silver Toyota Previa people carrier with two other children and two men. Talking about the response by emergency services, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival, crews found two cars which had been involved in a collision. One of the cars had left the carriageway." It was the people carrier that went down and embankment and hit trees. The spokesman continued: "One child was confirmed dead at the scene. A second was taken on blue lights to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. Staff at the hospital had been put on alert awaiting the arrival of the child who later died. "A number of other people have also been taken to hospital." One man is believed to be in a critical condition in hospital. Witnesses are being asked to call the Central Motorways Police Group on 0121 626 1831. From Sky News Terrible tragedy. Wonder who the footballer is?

Simi Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 So its definately a plymouth player then? "The club is aware of an incident involving one of our players that occurred on Saturday morning on the M6." You'd think.

syston_fox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Anyone seen on Nick Chadwick's wikipedia page? Allegedly is the true culprit of the road smash on the M6 with the death of 2 kids. Not Stephen McLean who would never do something like that. He's been released by plymouth now though so Im assuming it's not him!
Father Ted Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Anyone seen on Nick Chadwick's wikipedia page? He's been released by plymouth now though so Im assuming it's not him! But anybody could write that.

Tommy G Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Surely it can't be that difficult to find out all the Plymouth players that are 25yrs old. Im going to scout on a plymouth fans forum to try and find some news

pafcfan10 Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Luke Mccormick has now officially been named. Hi, I am here to ask you not to judge Super Luke. Having met him on many occasions I can tell you he is not your average chavvy young footballer. I also pose the question, have you ever broken the speed limit on the motorway? I think this is just a sheer tragedy. I am so gutted for the kids family and for Luke.

More details need to come out before anyone points fingers I guess.

I know, but he hasn't been charged yet. I just wanted you to understand that he isn't some thug who wouldn't give a shit. I can guarantee you he won't have stopped crying since it happened.
