I would walk 500 miles for Dickov.

And I would walk 500 more.

To be the man who scored 20 goals

to fall down at your door

Six goals in 11 appearances for Blackpool suggests he could hack a season in Division One and the big thing he could offer us is a runner to the near post.

It still astounds me that we've been so lacking at the near post for seasons now a fact that only adds to our blatant lack of imagination from corner kicks.

Title winning football is not just about having a good team and an inspiring manager, it is about paying attention to the little things and making sure that you capitalise on every goalscoring avenue possible.

Dickov would give us one more dimension. And a guarantee of goals if he could avoid injury.

I agree with what you are saying about Dickov, but hang on one minute.

In another thread you argue a football club is about having principles, and after what Warnock said about us you wouldn't ever want him here.

But you completely contradict yourself with this argument about Dickov returning.

He was the first one to want to jump ship after we were relegated from the Premier League, but after that clear lack of loyalty, you would still welcome him back with open arms?

I'd love him back, his work ethic was second to none, and I've not seen a player since do as much in 90 minutes as he used to. Hopefully if (and its a big if) he comes back, some of that will rub off on the young players.

And I don't think anyone can speak for every city fan, so stop saying "we'll give him a rough return" etc.

i would mind him back (forget the past) he will bag us much needed goals

but i should think that blackpool will b snapping him up if not it will b some other champ side

I've heard (but don't know the details) that Dickov wanted to stay but that internal politics and shit behind the scenes forced his hand.

Dickov is a free agent sign him up

He deserves more than a 1 year contract, give him 2 years!

Not really when you take his age into consideration.

He's a proven goalscorer, always has been, get him in befoe someone else does.

Cant we end this thread now, Dickov will not return here!! His wife wont allow it, she was the one who hated it here and wanted to return to the North West!!!

He doesn't deserve a 2 year contract when he's nearly 36, I doubt he could last that long.

He's a proven goalscorer which we've been lacking, I wouldn't mind him.

Hi, I have been a member for 3 years, but have never posted anyhing before. I have some news on Dickov that I don't think has been on here. The other day Fox Soccer Channel here in the US showed video of Paul Dickov and Darren Huckerby in the stands watching a Toronto FC game. So Dickov may be on his way to Canada.

I've heard reports that Huckerby is in talks with Toronto FC so that would tie in with what you're saying.

To be honest at 36 he's a little over the hill these days - still had an impressive time with Blackpool though with 6 in 10 games. If we do pick him up I wouldn't give him more than a rolling or 6 month contract to be honest - I'd like to see he's still got some of the old sparkle before putting flashing pound signs in front of him...

Looks like she's getting a trip a bit further North West than she thought :D

Seriously though, I'd welcome Dickov back but at the same time I'd much rather see his wages go on a player who might be around for two or three years. Long term success beats the shit out of short term fixes.
