Webbo Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Basketball How can it be exciting to see someone scoring a basket when you're going to see at least another 60 before the end of the match? Formulae 1 The best drivers in the world driving round in circles for 2 hours only for the team with the most expensive car to win. 90,000 people turning up in the hope that somebody crashes. Tennis (especially Wimbledon) Honestly, who gives a fu(k?There's never going to be a British winner in my lifetime. Who am I supposed to cheer for, the boring Swiss or the boring Spaniard? The women either look like blokes in drag or skinny gawky cows. That's my opinions for what they're worth, what sports do you hate?
Finnegan Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Heh. Interestingly, my old flatmate had exactly the same attitude towards basketball. For the same reason.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 I'll watch any major sporting event within reason. On the whole I hate golf but I love the last round of the Masters and the Open. I hate snooker but I love the World Championship Final. I hate Formula 1 but I enjoyed the last race of last season. I don't really like tennis but I'll watch Wimbledon. Same goes for Rugby Union and the Six Nations. Whereas I will literally watch any football you care to put in front of my eyes. To actually answer the question though, I'd agree with basketball. Horse racing I've never really got either.
Daggers Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Formula 1 tennis bowls almost everything in the summer Olympics (especially things you win by being awarded points) anything involving horses
Fox You Forest Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Nascar - Round and round and round they go, Left turn left turn left turn. (I know they turn right on the road races but who cares)
Joe. Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Watching motorsport in general. How exciting can watching vehicles going round a track be?

Joe. Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Oh my god how could I have forgotten American Football? The worst of the lot by far.

Finnegan Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 People need to stop tying Union and League together. Totally different sports. Rugby League is shit!
Sods Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Worst sport in the world has to be formula one for wathcing. I just cant see the point in watching the whole race. First 5 is alright and last 5 is usually okay. Ive been to Silverstone a few times as live local. And its better to watch it on the tele. Its literally 'Who was that?' 'AY UP whos that' 'WOW hes quick'
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Oh my god how could I have forgotten American Football? The worst of the lot by far. You sicken me. In all honesty though, I like American football, but it took me a while to get into it. I think you have to appreciate the tactics and thought that go into making a play to enjoy the game. Plus, no one in Britain is bought up with the sport, and loudmouth, twattish American fans (not ALL Americans) don't help boost the sport's growth in the UK. People need to stop tying Union and League together. Totally different sports. Rugby League is shit! Union is shit. Full of pathetic, middle class, bigoted fans (stereotype ahoy!). It's dull. Just dull. There's no sense of speed or urgency. League on the other hand is fast paced, exciting, and requires the players to be skillfull. The games are usually high scoring affairs and there's often an event that gets the audience going.
Joe. Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 The ball's never in play for more than 10 seconds in American Football! It's bollocks.
potter3 Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 I don't think I hate any sport There are just ones I don't care about at all.
