Durnerz Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 American Football - Its only use was sending me to sleep the time I watched the Superbowl. Curling - Watch your mum mop the floor, its the same thing. Golf - Love to play it, hate to watch it. Audley Harrison fights - Some of you might be thinking 'but Durnerz, surely that comes under boxing?' it doesn't, its like watching slow motion replays of a man shadow boxing at a rate of one punch per minute and a half. Motor Sport - Round and round, wow, great entertainment.
Head Honcho Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Basketball and Ice Hockey I mean what's the point?
Finnegan Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Union is shit. Full of pathetic, middle class, bigoted fans (stereotype ahoy!). It's dull. Just dull. There's no sense of speed or urgency. What you want to do is stop watching English rugby union. Over our way it's both a working class game and it's fast-paced, exciting and full of speed and flair. League on the other hand is fast paced, exciting, and requires the players to be skillfull. The games are usually high scoring affairs and there's often an event that gets the audience going. Bollocks is it. It's just a bunch of sprinters running at each other, falling over, getting up and doing it again. Absolutely clueless. How anyone can suggest there's more skill in League is absolutely beyond me.
isaidno Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Baseball. It is so boring. What's with all the anti-motor racing
Benji Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Tennis (especially Wimbledon)Honestly, who gives a fu(k?There's never going to be a British winner in my lifetime. Who am I supposed to cheer for, the boring Swiss or the boring Spaniard? The women either look like blokes in drag or skinny gawky cows. Don't know how to respond to that! The women comment is fair, but how people cannot watch Federer and Nadal with pure amazement is beyond me If you compared Nadal and Federer to football, you would be talking about Manchester United and Barcelona sharing all European Champions titles in the past 5 years and with the exception of Djokovic maybe the next 3 or 4 at least You struggle to see any two sportsmen so much better that the rest in the world in any other sport For me its American Football, stop start stop start stop start and repeat
Father Ted Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Cricket - Don't mind playing, shite to watch. Horse Racing - Why bother????? - Wait hours to watch something that is over in like a couple of minutes! American Football - Rugby for poofs
purpleronnie Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 I love how people compare rugby to American football. If they didnt have protection players would be paralyzed or killed every game. As far as the stopping and how long the ball is in play thats true, but I went to a game and wasnt bored once. The fact every single play has so much resting on it makes it much more exciting.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Bollocks is it. It's just a bunch of sprinters running at each other, falling over, getting up and doing it again. Absolutely clueless. How anyone can suggest there's more skill in League is absolutely beyond me. I've been to see a few Wolves games because my dad's from Warrington, so he insists that we have to watch it. To say that it's a bunch of sprinters running at each other is very naiive, a bit like me saying that union is full of neanderthals who like to push and kick each other, who charge their way up the field in a game in which strongest usually wins. The skill involved in some of the more intricate play in League is absloutely outstanding, and the speed of the game is multiplied tenfold in comparison to Union. The pitches are also narrower, so of course more skill is involved in order to utilise the space given. You can't just punt the bloody ball up the pitch all the time, as is the case in Union. I appreciate and enjoy watching good wing play in Union, and I could admirte the skill of Shane Williams, Tom Varndell or Bryan Habana for hours. What League does is take those exciting elements, and focuses more on them. I love how people compare rugby to American football. If they didnt have protection players would be paralyzed or killed every game. Thank you. Although not American, I get really annoyed when people say "poofs in pads" etc. It's a really dangerous sport, and anyone who says it would probably appreciate the protection that pads offer when being chased down by a 26 stone beast.
Lovejoy Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Baseball is sleepworthy stuff! Not a massive fan of rugby league either tbh. 'tis w*** imo !
Unabomber Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Cricket Baseball (Doesn't help with my mate being a HUGE fan) Nascar etc American Football Long distance running

Unit Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 Tennis. shit scoring system. boring game. only about 2 of the birds are worth watching it for. Golf. no explaination needed. Horse racing/the dogs. Wouldn't exist without betting, complete crap and when you see shit like ascot on t.v it pisses me off no end, all the snobs with their hats on.
AoWW Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 Formula 1 tennis bowls almost everything in the summer Olympics (especially things you win by being awarded points) anything involving horses Why? I'm not being confrontational - just curious as to the reasoning.
David Guiza Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 American Football Basketball Baseball Golf all sports that arent sports e.g fishing
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 American football ... Rugby for poofs Yeah, all right.... ...But I'm sure this guy will disagree with you.
Webbo Posted 28 June 2008 Author Posted 28 June 2008 If you compared Nadal and Federer to football, you would be talking about Manchester United and Barcelona sharing all European Champions titles in the past 5 years and with the exception of Djokovic maybe the next 3 or 4 at least Yeah. And we all want to see that.
David Guiza Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 I dont " Hate " American football i just find it boring and i dont see how anyone can stay entertained by any sport for that length of time and most of the games you can only really see on TV becuase the majority of away games are miles away
Basingstoke Fox Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 Anything that Englands shite in that isnt football really
Guest Bilo Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Yeah, all right.... ...But I'm sure this guy will disagree with you. Andrew Sheridan would rip his fcuking head off. But seriously, rugby players are fitter, have more stamina and can take more punishment than American football players.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Andrew Sheridan would rip his fcuking head off. But seriously, rugby players are fitter, have more stamina and can take more punishment than American football players. And when did I say that rugby players weren't all of the above? I just said that American footballers weren't "poofs" as ASH17LCFC put it. Anywho, the pictured guy weighs in at nearly 25 stone. I doubt Sheridan would just "rip his head off", although it'd be an interesting fight.
Darkzzz_ Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Cricket Badminton Bowling Rowing Golf Cant think of any more.
Ric Flair Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Tennis.shit scoring system. boring game. only about 2 of the birds are worth watching it for. Golf. no explaination needed. Horse racing/the dogs. Wouldn't exist without betting, complete crap and when you see shit like ascot on t.v it pisses me off no end, all the snobs with their hats on. The same could be said about most sports though. Not so much the betting element, but without the money generated by spectators and punters, the professional sports would struggle to exist.
