ibbosuk Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 I should expect Howard and Fryatt to be 20 goal strikers aswell... if Dyer and Gradel can whip in balls for Howard he can score. FUKIN JOKE.....10 EACH YOU MEAN....     ((((((((((((((((((((( WE NEED STRIKERS!!!!!!)))))))))))))))))))
Father Ted Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 FUKIN JOKE.....10 EACH YOU MEAN....    ((((((((((((((((((((( WE NEED STRIKERS!!!!!!))))))))))))))))))) Howard scored 19 in League 1, 2 seasons ago and has scored over 20 in League 1 before with Luton. Fryatt nearly got 20 with Walsall.
Fox You Forest Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 Howard scored 19 in League 1, 2 seasons ago and has scored over 20 in League 1 before with Luton. Fryatt nearly got 20 with Walsall. So... More lopta's.

Thank you Fart-the Ted, Having to go back into the record books of 3 seasons ago to point out when they last had a good goalscoring season between them sums it up nicely...For a minute there Ted I actually thought you were defending them....
Candidcamera Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 IMO there will be a new forward soon but I agree that Ashley Chambers (on talent alone) must be given a decent run this season. I feel the same about Weso so let him have a good run in the team.
LcFcD3C93 Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 we should sign the hinckley striker he was so much better than the carthorse himself
teblin Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 we should sign the hinckley striker he was so much better than the carthorse himself Adam webster? used to live across the road from him, good footballer. Was a keeper when i knew him.
Asha Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 we should sign the hinckley striker he was so much better than the carthorse himself Adam Webster...who I believe is 27/28.... Is there any need?
Thracian Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Read into this what you will.Walsh says: "We have got five signings that we are very happy with. They have settled in and trained well. "Gilbert has good pace, good strength and likes to get forward. "Tunchev is the ace in the pack. He is a proven international and is only 26. Hopefully, he is the type of player to take us to the next level and maybe beyond. "Morrison is 20 with good experience. He is very fit - a big lad. He has played for Cambridge since he was 17 and he is looking to the next level. "Adams I have been monitoring for a long time. I know him from his Bury days and had some favourable reports on him. He has two feet, a decent engine and scored 13 goals from midfield last year. "Dyer has great pace and loves getting behind people. He scores goals as well. "We are hoping two wide players will contribute goals as well, which was a problem last season. "We hope DJ (Campbell), (Matty) Fryatt and Steve Howard will chip in with a good percentage. They have good records at this level, but you need to close the back door." What's this? A coach who seems capable of assessing the requirements needed to get promotion. I'm not quite sure that Gilbert will be the full package in terms of attacking but it's early days. Happily Walsh's awareness of our need for goals seems in no doubt and that's refreshing. My big concern now is central midfield. If Adams takes one place as seems likely and justified, Oakley and Weso seem the favoured choices for the other. But, to me, Porter and King are more key to scoring and creating goals, Porter in particular. In fact I was amazed on Saturday at the extent of his recovery after such a time out. He was a bit short of sharpness but looked strong, mobile and very focused on making things happen. We missed his assists last season and he will get more from midfield in Division One. Oakley and Weso didn't get many at all between them. Both were disappointing.
Thracian Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Adam Webster...who I believe is 27/28....Is there any need? Don't care if he's 103. He looked a bloody good striker and netted two wonderful goals with great assurance. His goals saved Hinckley last season and Hinckley people have no doubt he'll score plenty more for them this term. Divison One is no great level to reach compared with Hinckley's, especially given the benefit of full-time training and better players around them. Bloody hell we've had people in City's team of late that I doubt even Conference sides would want.

At least I defend my team - like a TRUE FAN and not slag them off like a pretender like you Igosuck!
Hackneyisblue Posted 14 July 2008 Author Posted 14 July 2008 At least I defend my team - like a TRUE FAN and not slag them off like a pretender like you Igosuck! Why defend the indefensible, all three are shit. I would never agree with co* fans that we're shit, but between Leicester fans I don't see the point in getting het up just because someone calls it as they see it. I didn't go on Saturday but the consensus seems to be that Fryatt still looks unfit, Howard is just plain shit and DJ couldn't give a fook. Apparently DJ will cause problems at this level with his pace, not sure if his lack of understanding of the offside rule, the fact that his first touch is shit and he keeps missing the goal will offset that but I'd hazard a guess it will.
ibbosuk Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 At least I defend my team - like a TRUE FAN and not slag them off like a pretender like you Igosuck! I think my season ticket cost more than yours..... Oh, whats that.............. you don't have one......

Maybe so, but 27/28 and only Blue Square level....making the step up 3 divisions won't be a total walk. I'm not saying it's impossible, I just think it would be a very big challenge for him.

I don't know enough about him to say whether he could make it or not but he would have to be a late developer and I don't think we should read too much into his performance agains a rank bad defence in a pre season friendly.
AyewJoking Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 We dont need anymore strikers. Howard, Campbell, Fryatt and Hayles will get at least 10 each and Chambers, McKay etc will provide sufficient cover.
Father Ted Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 I think my season ticket cost more than yours..... Oh, whats that.............. you don't have one...... I do actually, in SK1, where's yours, behind the subs eating prawn sandwiches?? Oh, I forgot, you don't have one

Candidcamera Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 You are right. We need goal scorers = 2, please.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 Oakley and Weso didn't get many at all between them. Both were disappointing. King was no better on Saturday though, Thrac. Anonymous is an understatement.

Howard - I'd be worried if he turned up to a sunday league club i'll be training with this week. Campbell - Hmmm, Could be good. COULD. Fryatt - Might do it at this level, no pace though. Hayles - He's no goal scorer. Chambers - Unproven. We need someone who is very likely to score goals! It's been ages since we've had a goalscorer. Are you telling me that you are absolutely positive that lot will score a lot of goals? And by the sounds of the Luton match i'm just about right.

From a Bentley's Roofer who went last night: 'Howard - can Pearson be serious about persisting with this fooking clown? Someone firing balls out of a spinning cannon 2 miles from the ground would have had more chance of finding the net. Campbell - vindicated all my pessimism. If Pearson is still convinced that he can do a job for us after this then they should re-instate David Pleat. ' Does not sound promising, apparently we have no more threat than last season. And we still don't have a left back (if Mattock goes), Chambers was apparently suspect at right back and Logan was in goal so it looks as if NFP doesn't have that much confidence in Henderson. Five new players needed?

Five new players needed? I thought Chambers was alright last night, played right-back first half and left-back second half. I don't think you can read anything into Logan playing. They both need games. Howard and Campbell look like two players in the worst form of their lives. Whether it's Pearson or Mandaric that is wanting to persist with them I'm not sure, but it may cost us this season. There's no understanding there at all and they just look consistently poor.

But do we want a defender that can play 'alright' at both left and right, I'd prefer a specialist in both positions. From all accounts Logan is not good, so if they both need games it must mean that Henderson is not rated that higher than Logan. I'm worried, we don't seem to be sure about either the goalie or the two full-backs, and everyone seems in total agreement about the strikers. We have played three poor sides so far and we haven't excelled in any game.
