Ricky sappleton is quick and real strong an emile heskey of the old days he will make step up this season and be the tits i also reckon odihianbo or however the fook you spell his name will step up as well, he played for southend last season so has had time to know a bit about league one plus last pre season he was decent for his age in a bad environment

Get any of Howard, Fryatt and DJ playing near their best and we have 3 great strikers. Last season was dross but with a bit more time and (hopefully) better serivce from midfield hopefully we can score goals.

If we play with wingers who actually go down the line and try and cross a ball then Howard could be very useful.

Pearsons signings so far appear to be sensible - no idea if any are good mind.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but having 'Howard' in the same sentance as 'great striker' made me almost push out a fart!

The guy is tosh!

Well if Mandaric is to be beleived we are going to bring in 2 more players and i reckon it will be either a Keeper, left back, striker or possibly a right winger.

So, what you're saying is you aint got a f'n clue who he might bring in. :D

Why would we bring in another right winger.

Fryatt,

Campbell,

Howard,

Hayles.

Out of those I would only keep Hayles (For his effort), and begrudgingly Howard (WHO WOULD BE ON HIS FINAL,FINAL chance to produce!!!!!!)

Sell the others. ;)

Then we would have just Hayles and Howard as our main strikers.

Dont think we will or attract any better strikers than we have already got, quite happy with the bunch we have currently, albiet one more will suffice

Going to put a 20 on us coming second in the league, behind leeds who i think wil finish top,and mk dons third.

I've put a 10 double on Reading and Leicester although I'm starting to regret the Reading part since they look

like they will lose a few players. I might put another 10 just on leicester. 5-1 is great odds who will finish above

us? M.K have lost Ince and some players, Leeds are fave at 10-3 did you see them play last season? I saw them

twice and they were awful.

I would like to see us sign a quality striker but if we can not improve on what's here already then I would just

leave it .There's no point signing a striker just for the sake of it.

You might back Hailes in a fight, but I would back my mum to beat him in a sprint. :D

Definitely not buying any new strikers before we flogged some of the current dross is my view on this. And who would in their right mind would come in for one of our misfiring 'goal'getters.....

Face it, its Howard, DJ, Fryatt and Hayles for another season....

ok i expect some flack here lol

The way i see it is that a striker is only as good as the servic he gets.

To be honest the service the front got last season was nothing short of poor, with players playing out of position with two proper wide men who know about crossing and how and when to make those runs, with this in mind i expect the front men to get better service next season and produce the goods

I don't think we should really get any more strikers in before some leave out the back door to be honest, how many have we on our books at the moment??? I think Pearson is being very clever with his signings, he has recognised the wingers problem and at the end of the day, yes the strikers weren't scoring, but really what was the service like to the strikers??? Pathetic at best!! We had defensive minded midfield players, we even played our defenders in midfield for part of last season, no wonder our goals against was the best in the division! I think with the players we have got we have the potential to really boss this league and I mean that. Good defence, good defensive midfield, good attacking midfield and winger, and yes good strikers!

Come on Campbell and Howard racked up 35 odd goals in the championship a couple of seasons ago!!!! I know people on here are going to say yes but they were useless last year, but really they didn't have much settling in time and with the manager merry-go-round last season that is going to affect the strikers more than the others! Strikers like to feel wanted by the manager, and at the end of the day who felt wanted a Leicester last year, each manager was stuck with all the players that the previous manager had bought!

Overall I think Pearson will bring us consistancy. We have the best squad in this league with the individual talent we have, Pearson is going to get them fitter than all the other teams in this league, I just hope that he is good tactically cos we definately lacked that with a few of the others in the recent past!!!

I'm really looking forward to the season starting now, get behind the boys!!!

"Adams I have been monitoring for a long time. I know him from his Bury days and had some favourable reports on him. He has two feet, a decent engine and scored 13 goals from midfield last year.

I should hope so an' all!

"Dyer has great pace and loves getting behind people. He scores goals as well.

Yeh same

What sort of signings have we made

I agree with almost all of that - the strikers we have with good service and against weaker opposition in this league should do well especially Campbell with his pace

To be fair that season howard got 19, campbell got 12 and i'm sure bazza got 14 too. so we have goals in the squad.

Just worried that hayles has gone over and maybe so has howard.

I just can't work DJ out the odd game last year i was impressed, but then other times he looked liked an over priced elvis hammond. Also to be fait to him he was carrying an injury too.

hopefully pearson will give a couple of the youngsters a push and tell them the place of striker is theirs if they earn it ie sappleton (for some unknown reason i just like this guy he may not be the best but a good hustling bustling hold up play, who defenders are shit scared of is something we could do with)

this might give our current strikers the urge to actually try even harder

still think we will see one or maybe 2 of them go though before the season starts

Posted
i reckon if DJ gets consistent starts and gets GOOD SERVICE from dyer and adams then he could be a 20 goals a season guy

I should expect Howard and Fryatt to be 20 goal strikers aswell...

if Dyer and Gradel can whip in balls for Howard he can score.

Love all those Ron Manager football speak quotes from Walsh. He's got two feet is almost as good as my other favourite - 'We're going there to get a result'. What else would you you try and get from a football game? A new carpet? Tips on this year's must have fashion accessories?

Mind you perhaps football folk talk rubbish because they're asked rubbish. Are you pleased with the pre-season so far? No, it's been a bit chilly, the players are all over weight, and I wish I was on holiday in Portugal......

I think we should keep Hayles around for the youngsters, Ashley Chambers looks like if we give him a chance he will score goals, he is a talent, we will have to see what kind of season Odiahambo has in the ressys too.
