norfolkfox222 Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Norwich are set to sign a striker today, could it be Howard? It's just a guess, although Norwich are actually signing a striker today. Have u got a source??
Thracian Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Norwich are set to sign a striker today, could it be Howard? It's just a guess, although Norwich are actually signing a striker today. I really don't mind. While I'm quite convinced Howard would have scored frequently enough he was like a lead weight on a working condom - forever dragging you back when you wanted to get on. We're not badly off for strikers, and that includes Ramsap who will probably never look a cultured player but he does have a presence and he does get into that box. I'd not be surprised if we signed another striker but the likes of Campbell, Fryatt, Ashley Chambers, Ramsap, Odhiambo and McKay offer us plenty of options whatever, and most of them pretty quick.
SamL Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Have u got a source?? The local news did an interview with Glenn Roeder after their pre-season game with Spurs last night, and he said that they were hoping to sign the striker today. In all fairness, the striker could be anyone but I immediately thought of Howard because of the speculation. I'm probably wrong but it's a complete guess.

I'm liking the comparison there Thrac. If Howard can pull his finger out, he'll score goals in this division. As with Clemence and Oakley, a lot of people have got on his back because he's failed to live up to expectations, and rightly so. If I was going to get rid of a striker, Howard wouldn't be the first I'd get rid of.

SamL Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Don't get your hopes up. It probably won't end up being Howard that Norwich are signing.
teblin Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Don't get your hopes up. It probably won't end up being Howard that Norwich are signing. You may not be far off the mark, it was in a local paper in norfolk too that howard was top target. I still think he'd score goals for us, we'd need to replace him, you need a big guy, i know there all these calls for sappleton, but i think we need another. more like sappleton, big and strong but with a bit of pace too. Trouble is could end up being pericard.

Manwell Pablo Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 It Pericard still trying to play football. My Word.
billyfox1 Posted 29 July 2008 Author Posted 29 July 2008 Don't get your hopes up. It probably won't end up being Howard that Norwich are signing. Too late. Espicially as NP has said on Talksport thismorning that some might be leaving (There would be more but i wasn't allowed too many emoticons)
bigneville Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 It Pericard still trying to play football. My Word. It's more concerning that people are still actually paying Pericard to play football. Can't blame a bloke for trying.
Lester LXXIV Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 It seems they have several targets of which Howard is one!
Daggers Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 It seems they have several targets of which Howard is one! Well, if Norwich are as good as Howard they'll miss all of them.
billyfox1 Posted 29 July 2008 Author Posted 29 July 2008 Norwich to sign 'big striker' in 7 to 14 days dependant on the other club being willing to sell. http://www.norwichcity-mad.co.uk/news/load...W&id=399317 Sort it out Mandy. £1.50 will do (too slow)
dandannieldanok Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 It seems they have several targets of which Howard is one! Why the sad face, I really hope he goes, the bloke has been useless except for one game.

ronnup Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 looking at their other targets, they'd be crazy to buy Howard.
Lester LXXIV Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Why the sad face, I really hope he goes, the bloke has been useless except for one game. I'm sad at the fact that they are more likely to go for the other options!
dandannieldanok Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 I'm sad at the fact that they are more likely to go for the other options! Hopefully Mandaric will buckle more easily than the other chairmen

Austin Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Got text from my mate who lives up there and supports them .. said there all convinced it'll be Howard. Text back .. "Please take him. Pleeeeeeeeease." :fc:
bigneville Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 http://www.norwichcity-mad.co.uk/news/load...W&id=399317Norwich to add 'Big Striker' to squad. Well you don't get much bigger lumps than Howard.
CupidStunt Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 The Norwich boss claimed that the manager who has agreed to the loan has done him 'a big favour'. Watch this space. A loan deal? A big striker and a 'beautiful mover' will join Norwich in the coming days Either Roeders a tit,or its someone else Or he has been involved in some sort of wife swapping and gang banging with Howard and his missus and has been impressed with his overall "package"
whitlock Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 "Roeder will be adding a 'big striker' in seven to 14 days, when the player's club agrees to sell. The chances are that this will be either Newcastle's Shola Ameobi, Steve Howard of Leicester or Southampton's Grzegorz Rasiak" Both of those strikers sh*t on Howard. Roder would be mad trying to sign Howard over Ameobi and Rasiak imo. Even though people think Howard is a useless lump of turd and i agree but i'd prefer it if we could keep him this season. He is lacking confidence at the minute and he will score goals in this league, soon as he starts to score id be confident that he will score plenty over the season!
